  1. 1. Unstable coronary artery disease : Studies on inflammation, infection, hemostasis, and the effects of low-molecular-mass heparin treatment

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Henrik Toss; Uppsala universitet.; [1998]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medical sciences; unstable angina; myocardial infarction; prognosis; inflammation; hemostasis; fibrinolysis; resistance to activated protein C. low-molecular-mass heparin; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Medicine; medicin;

    Sammanfattning : The occurrence and prognostic importance, of inflammatory activity, signs of Chlamydia pneumoniae infection. APC resistance, hemostasis, and the effects of low-molecular-mass heparin (LMMH) was evaluated in patients with unstable coronary artery disease (UCAD). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Fibrinogen and Bleeding in Cardiac Surgery: Clinical Studies in Coronary Artery Bypass Patients

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Martin Karlsson; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2010]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cardiac surgery; Hemostasis; Cardiopulmonary bypass; Fibrinogen; Bleeding;

    Sammanfattning : Fibrinogen and Bleeding in Cardiac Surgery: Clinical Studies in Coronary Artery Bypass Patients Background: Cardiac surgery is accompanied by inflammatory activation and bleeding complications. Fibrinogen is a key factor in the coagulation cascade and can be used to treat ongoing bleeding, but is not well studied as prophylactic treatment to prevent bleeding in patients with normal plasma fibrinogen levels or as a predictive tool to identify patients with increased bleeding risk. 3. 3. The Plasma Contact System New Functional Insights from a Hemostatic and Thrombotic Perspective

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Jennie Bäck; Uppsala universitet.; [2011]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Contact activation; factor XII; platelets; coagulation; antithrombin; C1 inhibitor; hemostasis; biomarkers; vascular disease.; Klinisk immunologi; Clinical Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : The physiological role of the plasma contact system still remains a partial enigma. The aim of the presented work was to expand our understanding of the plasma contact system, focusing on its physiological activation and function, principally from a hemostatic perspective. It also explored contact system activation under pathological conditions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The hemostatic pathway in ischemic stroke. Clinical studies of genetic variation and plasma protein measurements

    Detta är en avhandling från Göteborg : University of Gothenburg

    Författare :Ellen Hanson; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ischemic stroke; etiologic subtypes of ischemic stroke; genetics; SNP; hemostasis; prothrombotic; ADAMTS13; VWF; ABO blood group; FSAP; FXI;

    Sammanfattning : Although stroke is a common cause of death and disability in adults, there are few studies on stroke compared to other common diseases. A stroke could be either ischemic or hemorrhagic, but even within these two groups, disease etiology shows heterogeneity. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Thrombosis in Children

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Clinical Sciences, Lund University

    Författare :Olof Rask; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2008]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Child; Estradiol; Heart Defects; Congenital; Hemostasis; Protein C Inhibitor; Risk factors; Thrombophilia; Thromboembolism; Autoantibodies; Adolescent;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: The general objective was to further elucidate thromboembolic disease in children and thereby help improve the care of these patients. More specific aims were as follows: to determine what children are affected by thrombosis; to discern any gender or age differences related to thrombosis; to identify prothrombotic risk factors; to ascertain whether autoantibodies against coagulation proteins constitute a risk factor for childhood thrombosis; to study girls receiving estrogen treatment with regard to induced hemostatic changes and efficacy of the therapy; to investigate long-term effects on the hemostatic system in children subjected to heart surgery.
