    Författare :Hartman Jonas; Ann-Christine Albertsson; Gunnar Henriksson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hemicellulose; galactoglucomannan; plasma surface treatment; vaporphase grafting; benzylation; contact angle; oxygen permeability; solution casting; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Polysaccharides constitute an important source of raw materials for the packaging industry today. Polysaccharides have good natural barrier properties which are necessary for packaging films. Cellulose is the forerunner among renewable polymers for such applications. Hemicelluloses represent a new interesting breed of barrier materials. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Foaming of cellulose derivatives and hemicellulose-containing materials

    Författare :Kristina Karlsson; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :β-glucan; arabinoxylan; scale-up production; hydroxypropyl methylcellulose HPMC ; ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose EHEC ; hot-mould foaming; extensional viscosity; extrusion; hemicellulose; rheological characterisation; Foaming; xylan; cellulose derivatives;

    Sammanfattning : Fossil-based polymeric foams are important materials due to their good mechanical properties relative their low density, the low price and the possibility for large-scale production. They are widely used in cushioning, absorbing and insulation applications. There are however a few disadvantages with these foamed products. LÄS MER
