  1. 21. Exploring the future low-carbon electricity system: impacts of nuclear power and demand patterns

    Författare :Xiaoming Kan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; net system cost; electricity supply mix; Low-carbon electricity system; variable renewable energy; nuclear power; electricity system cost; demand pattern; energy system modeling;

    Sammanfattning : To achieve the climate goals set by the Paris Agreement, the global electricity system is expected to transition towards a low-carbon electricity system. The future low-carbon electricity system is uncertain regarding both generation and demand. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Emissions from realistic operation of residential wood pellets heating systems

    Författare :Kaung Myat Win; Rebei Bel Fdhila; Tomas Persson; Erik Dahlquist; Henrik Thunman; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wood pellet; Heating; Combustion; boiler; stove; emissions; particulate matter; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik; SWX-Energi; Integrerade system för sol och biobränsle;

    Sammanfattning : Emissions from residential combustion appliances vary significantly depending on the firing behaviours and combustion conditions, in addition to combustion technologies and fuel quality. Although wood pellet combustion in residential heating boilers is efficient, the combustion conditions during start-up and stop phases are not optimal and produce significantly high emissions such as carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon from incomplete combustion. 3. 23. Integrating Latent Heat Storage into Residential Heating Systems : A study from material and component characterization to system analysis

    Författare :Tianhao Xu; Samer Sawalha; Björn Palm; Justin NingWei Chiu; Tianshu GE; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; phase change material; thermal energy storage; heat pump; load shifting; space heating; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Latent heat thermal energy storage (LHTES) systems can be coupled with heat pump (HP) systems to realize heat load shifting on demand side. With phase change material (PCM), well designed LHTES components exhibit high storage energy density and thus have large potentials to be integrated in residence where a compact energy storage solution is needed. 4. 24. A System Perspective on District Heating and Waste Incineration

    Författare :Kristina Holmgren; Björn Karlsson; Anna Björklund; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Energy recovery; District heating; Waste incineration; Waste management; Environmental; Material recovery; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Energy recovery by waste incineration has a double function as waste treatment method and supplier of electricity and/or heat, thereby linking the systems of energy and waste management. Both systems are undergoing great changes, mainly due to new regulations. LÄS MER

  5. 25. The future load curve of the Swedish building stock – Interactions between the heating load and district heating

    Författare :Dmytro Romanchenko; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermal energy storage; District heating; demand response; buildings; optimisation; space heating;

    Sammanfattning : In line with global efforts directed against climate change, the building sector is required to undergo significant changes in terms of its energy management. This is the case for both the use of energy (reduced energy consumption) and the supply of energy (heat and electricity), and how these two interact. LÄS MER
