  1. 11. Deformation Behaviour of A356-T7 Cast Aluminium Alloys Used in High Specific Power IC Engine Cylinder Heads

    Författare :Elanghovan Natesan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aluminium alloys; fatigue; constitutive models; thermo-mechanical fatigue; a356; cylinder head;

    Sammanfattning : The constant development drive towards higher specific power and lower displacement engines in recent years to produce environmentally friendly high-performance cars has placed increasingly high thermal loads on the internal combustion engine materials. Further, the advent of hybrid power trains placing higher demands on quick starts and a rapid approach to maximum power necessitates the automotive industry to move towards a more robust computational thermo-mechanical fatigue life prediction methodology to develop reliable engines and reduce developmental costs. 2. 12. The role of head size in total hip arthroplasty - Dislocation, wear and cup stability

    Författare :Georgios Tsikandylakis; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; arthroplasty; head; dislocation; wear; corrosion; cup migration;

    Sammanfattning : Large heads are used in total hip arthroplasty, with the aim of reducing the risk of dislocation, but there are concerns related to polyethylene wear, corrosion and cup loosening. Paper I is an observational study that aimed to investigate whether the transition from 28-mm to 32-mm heads and thereafter to 36-mm heads in patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty (THA) after osteoarthritis has been followed by a reduction in dislocation rates in the Nordic countries. Sammanfattning : Sandstedt, Thomas (2013) – On Recruitment in Academia in the Cases of Department Heads and Research Students  This thesis study how academic and scientific culture act and handle the balance between different interests, demands and preferences and what is considered central and valuable in the leading and managing within universities in Sweden. These are set against each other whenever department heads and research students are to be recruited. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Investigating Communicative Feedback Phenomena across Languages and Modalities

    Författare :Loredana Sundberg Cerrato; David House; Marianne Gullberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Linguistics; Lingvistik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with human communicative behaviour related to feedback, analysed across languages (Italian and Swedish), modalities (auditory versus visual) and different communicative situations (human-human versus human-machine dialogues). The aim of this study is to give more insight into how humans use communicative behaviour related to feedback and at the same time to suggest a method to collect valuable data that can be useful to control facial and head movements related to visual feedback in synthetic conversational agents. 5. 15. The Syntax of Tenselessness : On Copying Constructions in Swedish

    Författare :Anna-Lena Wiklund; Görel Sandström; Lars-Olof Delsing; Anders Holmberg; Jan-Wouter Zwart; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Linguistics; infinitives; pseudocoordination; feature copying; restructuring; tense; underspecification; Lingvistik; Linguistics; Lingvistik; Linguistics; lingvistik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates three construction types in Swedish where two (or more) verbs display identical inflectional morphology (COPYING) and share one overt subject. The constructions are referred to as (i) T(ENSE)M(OOD)A(SPECT)-COPYING complements, of the form John started and wrote (John started writing), (ii) PARTICIPLE COPYING complements, of the form John had been-able written (John had been able to write), and (iii) PSEUDOCOORDINATIONS, of the form John sat and wrote (John was writing).
