    Sammanfattning : What are the linguistic characteristics of French newspapers headlines? Employing three aspects of linguistic analysis (syntax, pragmatics and stylistics), the present thesis describes and analyses the textual "genre" of the headline.     Sammanfattning : The present study considers the diachronic changes that took place in Soviet political discourse as reflected in six selections of Pravda editorials from the 1920s through the 1950s, as well as slogans and headlines in that newspaper from 1917 through 1933. The principal goal of analyses conducted on various levels is to identify and investigate a number of tendencies demonstrating the gradual transformation of the language of revolution into totalitarian language.     Sammanfattning : Reportage is a generally accepted, yet poorly defined genre in Swedish newspaperterminology. It is usually associated with journalistic texts that are produced outside theroutines of daily news coverage; reportage features also have a more personal tone thanstandard news texts in that the reporter imparts his or her personal observations andperceptions of the scene in question.
