  1. 6. Architectural Flirtations : A Love Storey

    Författare :Brady Burroughs; Hélène Frichot; Katja Grillner; Katarina Bonnevier; Naomi Stead; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; architectural flirtations; architectural pedagogy; queer feminist theory; architectural critique; Camp; design practice research; performativity; experimental writing practices; critical fiction; critical architectural theory; Aldo Rossi; ‘significant otherness’; Arkitektur; Architecture;

    Sammanfattning : Formulated as a feminist project, written as a pulp fiction, Architectural Flirtations: A Love Storey begins with our claim that the architectural discipline is centered around a culture of critique, which is based in what bell hooks calls “a system of imperialist, white supremacist, heterosexist, capitalist, patriarchy,” and that the values instilled by this culture not only begin with, but are reinforced and reproduced by, the education of young architects.Sounds serious. 2. 7. The complex internationalization process unfolded : The case of Atlas Copco’s entry into the Chinese mid-market

    Författare :Mikael Eriksson; Ulf Holm; Mats Forsgren; Rian Drogendijk; Niina Nummela; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; International Business; Internationalization process; Complexity; Process theory; Strategy process; Evolutionary process; Political process; Business Studies; Företagsekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Despite its contemporary relevance, we still have limited empirical knowledge about the forces underlying complex internationalization processes as when multinational corporations (MNCs) seek to enter new growing markets. Based on a real-time process study comprising ninety interviews and two hundred hours of observation made between 2009 and 2012, Atlas Copco’s entry into the Chinese mid-market was investigated. 3. 8. Benefits of Non-Linear Mixed Effect Modeling and Optimal Design : Pre-Clinical and Clinical Study Applications

    Författare :Charles Ernest II; Andrew Hooker; Mats Karlsson; Bart Ploeger; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacometrics; optimal design; nonlinear mixed effects models; population models; Pharmaceutical Science; Farmaceutisk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Despite the growing promise of pharmaceutical research, inferior experimentation or interpretation of data can inhibit breakthrough molecules from finding their way out of research institutions and reaching patients. This thesis provides evidence that better characterization of pre-clinical and clinical data can be accomplished using non-linear mixed effect modeling (NLMEM) and more effective experiments can be conducted using optimal design (OD). 4. 9. Sedimentation and Its Challenge for Sustainability of  Hydraulic Structures : A Case Study of Mosul Dam Pumping Station

    Författare :Mohammad Ezz-Aldeen Mohammad; Sven Knutsson; Nadhir Al-Ansari; Jan Laue; Rafid Al Khaddar; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Geoteknik; Soil Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : A successful management and operation of water resources projects are essential to maintain their functions. Dams and reservoirs are one of the largest worldwide infrastructures. They serve one or more functions; reliable store and release of water for different purposes, hydropower generation and   flood and draught controls. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Local Effects On Icing Forecasts for Wind Power In Cold Climate

    Författare :Erik Janzon; Anna Rutgersson; Metodija Shapkalijevski; Heiner Körnich; Johan Arnqvist; Alfredo Peña; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Meteorologi; Meteorology;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding the risk of atmospheric icing on wind turbines is crucial for the operation of wind farms in cold climate regions. Processes leading to atmospheric icing in the planetary boundary layer are subject to interactions with the land surface--the details of which are largely unknown in current numerical weather prediction models and must be parameterized.
