  1. 11. Volunteer Kinematics and Muscle Activity in Dynamic Events Representative of Pre-crash Scenarios, Evaluation Data for Human Body Models

    Författare :Ghazaleh Ghaffari; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; EMG; volunteer; evasive manoeuvres; human body model; validation data; occupant kinematics; pre‐pretensioner belt; lane change; boundary conditions;

    Sammanfattning : Advanced integrated safety technologies in modern cars such as collision avoidance intervention and pre-crash activated restraint systems involve comprehensive research on how vehicle occupants respond to these systems in pre-crash situations. Human Body Models (HBMs) are mathematical tools developed to predict human responses and injury outcomes in different pre-crash and in-crash situations. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Development of a Mechanical Model for Rear Impacts: Evaluation of Volunteer Responses and Validation of the Model

    Författare :Johan Davidsson; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :whiplash; validation; rear impact; dummy; seat; spine; rear-end collision; volunteer; BioRID; neck;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this research has been to develop a biofidelic crash-test dummy to facilitate design of seat systems with enhanced occupant protection in rear-end collisions. These frequent collisions may cause soft-tissue neck injuries to occupants in struck vehicles. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Volunteer Muscle Activity in Dynamic Events. Input Data for Human Body Models

    Författare :Jóna Marin Olafsdottir; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; emergency braking; ative human body model; multidirectional perturbations; EMG; occupant kinematics; seatbelt pre-tension; reflex; validation data;

    Sammanfattning : Human body models (HBMs) are virtual human surrogates used to predict kinematic and injury responses during motor vehicle crashes. In recent years, active musculature has been incorporated into HBMs for enhanced biofidelity in simulated emergency scenarios, in particular low-severity crashes and pre-crash situations, where occupant responses are influenced by muscle tension. 4. 14. Neck injuries in rear impacts : Dummy neck development, dummy evaluation and test condition specifications

    Författare :Astrid Linder; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Neck; Injury; Anthropometric dummy; Severity; Impact test; Rear end collision; Seat; Mathematical model; Velocity; Thesis; Optimization; Mathematical neck models; Rear impact tests; Biomechanics; Road: Components of the vehicle; Road: Components of the vehicle;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of the work underlying this thesis was firstly to develop a neck for a new rear impact dummy, to evaluate the complete dummy and to specify test conditions for a consumer test with attention to AIS 1 neck injuries in rear impacts. In the development of the dummy neck, a mathematical neck model was developed and evaluated. LÄS MER
