11. Risk factors for incident heart failure and atrial fibrillation in an elderly population : The role of cardiac conduction and heart rate variability
Sammanfattning : Heart failure (HF) and atrial fibrillation (AF) are epidemic diseases, frequently coexisting, sharing risk factors and conferring poor prognosis. Identification of individuals at high risk of HF and AF may enable early treatment and improve the prognosis. Reliable prediction models for daily clinical practice are lacking. LÄS MER
12. Non-functioning pituitary adenomas and hypopituitarism - studies on morbidity and mortality
Sammanfattning : Background and aims: Hypopituitarism is most commonly caused by benign pituitary tumors, often resulting in insidious symptoms that develop over a long time. Due to either a mass effect exerted by the tumor, or due to the surgical treatment, hormonal deficiencies may arise, requiring hormone replacement. LÄS MER

14. Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia in migrant women living with HIV
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) in women living with HIV (WLWH) in Sweden compared with HIV-negative women (HNW) of the same region of birth. In Paper I we assessed the cumulative incidence (CuI) and hazard ratio (HR) of CIN3, adenocarcinoma, and invasive cervical cancer (CIN3+) in a cohort of WLWH (n = 893) and HNW (n = 205 842) by linking the Swedish national HIV registry (InfCare HIV) with the Swedish Population Registry (SPR) and the Swedish National Cervical Screening Registry (NKCx).
