  1. 16. Fatigue Anisotropy in Forged Components

    Författare :Cornelius Temmel; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Inclusion Cluster; Low Sulfur; Machinability; Inclusion; Manganese Sulfide; Quenching Crack; Forging; Isotropic Quality; Steel; Anisotropy;

    Sammanfattning : Ever-growing requirements on combustion engine efficiency of motor vehicles demand increasing service loads in powertrain components. Optimization of component material is therefore inevitable. A major detriment with many forged transmission components is their anisotropic mechanical behavior, not least during cyclic loading. 2. 17. Microstructure of a cubic boron nitride tool material before and after hard turning

    Författare :Jenny Angseryd; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; EELS; cBN; microstructure; PCBN; adherent layer; EDX; wear; SEM; EFTEM; TEM;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractPolycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) materials are widely used in turning of hardened steels due to their beneficial mechanical properties like high hardness at elevated temperatures and, compared to diamond, for being more chemically stable towards iron at temperatures typical for turning operations (800-1000˚C). The wear of PCBN tools is influenced by several factors, like machining parameters, different tool geometries and varying composition of PCBN tools as well as workpiece material. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Microstructure of a cubic boron nitride tool material and its degradation during hard turning operations

    Författare :Jenny Angseryd; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; EDX; adherent layer; cBN; PCBN; SEM; TEM; EELS and APT; wear; EFTEM;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract. Polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) materials are widely used in turning operations of hardened steels due to their beneficial mechanical properties like maintained high hardness at elevated temperatures, adequate toughness and for being more chemically stable towards iron compared to diamond at temperatures typical for turning operations. 4. 19. An Approach on Material Model Calibration for Modelling of Sheet Metal Deformation and Failure

    Författare :Stefan Marth; Hans-Åke Häggblad; Mats Oldenburg; Jörgen Kajberg; Odd Sture Hopperstad; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : Sheet metals are often used in automotive and aerospace applications for safety-relevant components. Weight reduction is one possibility to reduce fuel consumption or increase the payload capacity and therewith reduce the carbondioxide emission of these trans-portation vehicles. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Wear of coated and uncoated PCBN cutting tool used in turning and milling

    Författare :Susanne Sveen; Mikael Olsson; Magnus Odén; Urban Wiklund; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Nyckelord :PCBN; PVD coating; Wear mechanisms; Tool wear; Metal cutting; Steel Forming and Surface Engineering; Stålformning och ytteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis has the main focus on evaluation of the wear of coated and uncoated polycrystalline cubic boron nitride cutting tool used in cutting operations against hardened steel. And to exam the surface finish and integrity of the work material used. LÄS MER
