1. Neural Network Ensembles and Combinatorial Optimization with Applications in Medicine
Sammanfattning : Artificial neural network (ANN) and combinatorial optimization algorithms are developed, and applied to the medical domain. A novel method for training an ensemble of ANN is presented, based on random weight updates alternated with replication of networks with low error. LÄS MER
2. Developing Methods for Modelling Procedures in System Analysis and System Dynamics
Sammanfattning : System Thinking is the mindset of defining and confining a problem and its symptoms as well as a method for communicating system understanding. System Analysis is taking that problem apart to understand its causalities and structural arrangement. LÄS MER
3. The papilla of Vater : issues relevant to transpapillary cannulation and clinical management
Sammanfattning : Background: Many endoscopists have since the beginning of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) commented on the variation in the macroscopic appearance of the papilla of Vater. How the macroscopic appearance of the papilla influences the cannulation efforts during ERCP has been discussed but not previously investigated in-depth. LÄS MER
4. Closed-Loop Combustion Control of a Multi Cylinder HCCI Engine using Variable Compression Ratio and Fast Thermal Management
Sammanfattning : The current Spark Ignited (SI) engine equipped with three-way catalyst offers low emissions, but has low efficiency at part load, which results in unnecessarily high CO2 emissions. The Compression Ignited (CI) engines have higher efficiency and hence lower CO2 emissions, but suffer from higher Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) and Particulate Matter (PM) emissions, and no three-way catalyst can be used. 5. Prognostic impact of coronary microvascular funtion in patients with ischemic heart disease
Sammanfattning : Background: Ischemic heart disease is the leading cause of death globally. Despite recent advances in interventional and medical therapies, survivors of myocardial infarction are at high risk of recurrent cardiovascular events. LÄS MER
