  1. 1. Clinical and epidemiological studies on prognostic and predicitve factors in cutaneous melanoma

    Författare :Hanna Eriksson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Cutaneous malignant melanoma (CMM) is one of the most rapidly increasing cancers in Sweden, as in many other western countries. In clinical practice, the histopathological evaluation has remained the basis for staging the CMMs and, thus, providing important information on prognosis and on therapeutic recommendations. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Membrane proteins and proteomics : un amour possible?

    Författare :Hanna Eriksson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Membrane proteins constitute 20-30 % of the human genome and make up 60 % of all drug targets. They play important roles in key cellular functions such as small molecules transport, cell-cell interactions and cell signaling. Membrane proteins and proteomics have been notoriously difficult to combine. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Automated quantification of plasma metabolites by NMR to study prostate cancer risk biomarkers

    Författare :Hanna Eriksson Röhnisch; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Targeted quantitative NMR-based metabolomics can be used to identify disease risk biomarkers. However, NMR-based metabolomics yields complex spectra with signals from many different metabolites. These signals are often located within close proximity and, therefore, signal interferences are observed. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Intracellular vesicles induced by monotopic membrane protein in Escherichia coli

    Författare :Hanna M. Eriksson; Åke Wieslander; Meta Kuehn; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Membrane protein; intracellular vesicles; Escherichia coli; glycosyltransferase; overexpression; optimization; detergent; screening; lipid composition; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Biochemistry; biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : The monotopic membrane protein alMGS, a glycosyltransferase catalyzing glucolipid synthesis in Acholeplasma laidlawii, was overexpressed in Escherichia coli. Optimization of basic growth parameters was performed, and a novel method for detergent and buffer screening using a small size-exclusion chromatography was developed. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Nitrogen land-sea fluxes in the Baltic Sea catchment : Empirical relationships and budgets

    Författare :Hanna Eriksson Hägg; Christoph Humborg; Carl-Magnus Mörth; Hans Borg; Sybil Seitzinger; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nitrogen fluxes; Baltic Sea; primary emissions; riverine export; Scenario analysis; climate change; animal protein consumption; fertilizer use; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis empirical relationships and modeling tools are used to describe the relationship between human activities and meso- and large scale riverine N fluxes from land to sea. On a large scale Paper I showed that by only having knowledge about human population size and runoff one can estimate the riverine export of DIN (r2= 0.76). LÄS MER
