  1. 1. The Hand in Manual Work - Physiological and Psychophysical studies

    Författare :Lena Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; hand; pressure; muscle activity; laser doppler flowmeter; perception; manual work; hand tool; drilling machine; cutaneous blood flow; wrist orthosis;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the hand in manual work. In particular, we have studied what happens to skin and muscles when gripping a hand tool. Different aspects of gripping that will be discussed are: pressure on the hand, effects on the skin blood flow, muscle activity and the use of wrist orthoses. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Vibration exposure of the glabrous skin of the human hand

    Författare :Ronnie Lundström; Ludwik Liszka; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Vibration; hand; skin; mechanical impedance; mechanoreceptors; tactile perception; high-frequency;

    Sammanfattning : An occupational exposure to hand-arm vibration can cause a complex of neurological, vascular and musculo-skeletal disturbances, known as the 'vibration syndrome'. However, the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms are not at all clear. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Cold exposure and health : A study on neurological and vascular hand symptoms in northern Sweden

    Författare :Albin Stjernbrandt; Jens Wahlström; Ingrid Liljelind; Tohr Nilsson; Ellen Jørum; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cold climate; Sweden; Hand; Frostbite; Raynaud disease; Peripheral nerve injuries; Occupational and Environmental Medicine; arbets- och miljömedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Living in a cold climate is associated with several adverse health effects. The main purpose of this thesis was to describe cold exposure characteristics in northern Sweden, and investigate the associations between such exposure and the reporting of neurological and vascular hand symptoms. 4. 4. Development of Accurate Reduced Order Models in a Simulation Tool for Turbomachinery Aeromechanical Phenomena

    Författare :Mauricio Gutierrez Salas; Björn Laumert; Paul Petrie-Repar; Damian Vogt; Carlos Martel; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; flutter; forced response; high cycle fatigue; reduced order models; ROM; craig-bampton; mistuning; tuned; mistuned; cyclic; noncyclic; craig-chang; free-interface. fixed-interface; subset nominal mode; SNM; CBMS; CCMS; CCC; CBC; FEM; CMS; modal; eigen; modeshapes; aeroelasticity; aeromechanical; tool; turbomachinery; turbine; compressor; AROMA; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Modern gas turbines are still vulnerable to vibrations when operated at certain speeds. This unstable environment can lead to high cycle fatigue (HCF) and damage several of the components inside the turbine. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Aspects on the hand eczema and the current health care system : the possibility of health related quality of life measure as a tool for follow-up patients

    Författare :Wasim N. Jamil; Laura von Kobltezki; Magnus Lindberg; Åke Svensson; Anna Joelson; Tove Agner; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Contact eczema; hand eczema; health related quality of life; HRQoL; dermatology life quality index; DLQI; minimal clinical important difference; MCID; patch test; health care system; risk occupations;

    Sammanfattning : Contact eczema is the most common occupational skin disease, and it predominantly affects the hands. Hand eczema is a chronic and fluctuating disease with a multidimensional impact on the patient and society, resulting in an increased consumption of health care, long term sick leave, in voluntary change of occupation, and a risk of early retirement and impaired healthrelated quality of life.
