  1. 1. On the tissue response to hafnium, titanium and thin calcium phosphate coatings

    Författare :Sham Mohammadi; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hafnium; titanium; calcium phosphates; hydroxyapatite; implants; bone; soft tissue; histomorphometry;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Titanium (Ti) is the gold standard material for load-bearing implants. Although high success rates have been reported for Ti implants, failures do occur. Alternative materials/surface modifications might further improve the performances of Ti implants, particularly in situations with non-optimal local tissue conditions. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Group (IV) Metal-Catalyzed Direct Amidation : Synthesis and Mechanistic Considerations

    Författare :Helena Lundberg; Adolfsson Hans; Tom Sheppard; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; catalysis; amide; carboxylic acid; amino acid; titanium; zirconium; hafnium; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The amide unit constitutes the backbone of proteins, and it is present in a large number of pharmaceutically active molecules, polymeric materials such as nylon and Kevlar, as well as in food additives like aspartame. Amides are produced in enormous amounts every year, thus, environmentally friendly and selective methods for their formation are of great importance. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Investigation of hafnium for biomedical applications : corrosion and tribocorrosion in simulated body fluids

    Författare :Jorge Rituerto Sin; Ardian Morina; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Maskinelement; Machine Elements;

    Sammanfattning : Metals have excellent properties, such as high strength, ductility and toughness, which make them the material of choice for many biomedical applications. However, the main drawback of metals is their general tendency to corrode, which is an important factor when they are used as biomaterials due to the corrosive nature of the human body. LÄS MER

  4. 4. CVD and ALD of Group IV- and V-Oxides for Dielectric Applications

    Författare :Katarina Forsgren; Steven George; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; CVD; ALD; Dielectric constant; Tantalum oxide; Ta2O5; Zirconium oxide; ZrO2; Hafnium oxide; HfO2; QCM; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Due to the constantly decreasing dimensions of electronic devices, the conventional dielectric material in transistors and capacitors, SiO2, has to be replaced by a material with higher dielectric constant. Some of the most promising candidates are tantalum oxide,Ta2O5, zirconium oxide, ZrO2 and hafnium oxide, HfO2. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Ferroelectric Memristors - Materials, Interfaces and Applications

    Författare :Robin Athle; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; neuromorphic computing; Hafnium oxide; Memristor; Ferroelectric;

    Sammanfattning : The backbone of modern computing systems rely on two key things: logic and memory, and while computing power hasseen tremendous advancements through scaling of the fundamental building block – the transistor, memory access hasn’tevolved as rapidly, leading to significant memory-bound systems. Additionally, the rapid evolution of machine learningand deep neural network (DNN) applications, has exposed the fundamental limitations of the traditional von Neumanncomputing architecture, due to its heavy reliance on memory access.
