  1. 1. Differences in glycemic control in type 1 diabetes children and adolescents : in a national and international perspective and the effect on microvascular complications in young adults

    Författare :Johan Anderzén; Ulf Samuelsson; Lena Hanberger; Karin Åkesson; Carina Sparud Lundin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on glycemic control measured as HbA1c in type 1 diabetes (T1D) patients during childhood and especially during adolescence, both in a Swedish and an international context, and relates the glycemic control to the risk of complications in young adults.  In studies I and II, the Swedish Pediatric Diabetes Quality Register (SWEDIABKIDS) and the Swedish National Diabetes Register (NDR) were used. 2. 2. Digital support for people with cognitive impairment : An intervention to increase the occupational performance in everyday life

    Författare :Maria Andreassen; Helena Hemmingsson; Tiny Jaarsma; Henrik Danielsson; Inga-Lill Boman; Susanne Guidetti; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Active reminder; Assistive technology for cognition; Cognitive impairment; Digital support; Habits; Occupational Performance; Occupational therapy; Rehabilitation; Smartphone; Stroke; Timemanagement;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Senior people with cognitive impairment may experience an inability to manage everyday life due to difficulties related to time management, and planning and structuring everyday life. These difficulties can affect people negatively, for example not remembering to carry out future planned activities. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Granular Materials for Transport Infrastructures : Mechanical performance of coarse–fine mixtures for unbound layers through DEM analysis

    Författare :Ricardo de Frias Lopez; Johan Silfwerbrand; Jonas Ekblad; Björn Birgisson; Jörgen Johansson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; discrete element method; force distribution; gap-graded mixtures; granular materials; particle-scale behaviour; permanent deformation; resilient modulus; soil fabric; binära blandningar; diskreta elementmetoden; grusmaterial; kraftöverföring; verkningssätt på partikelnivå; permanent deformation; skelettstruktur; styvhet; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Granular materials are widely used as unbound layers within the infrastructure system playing a significant role on performance and maintenance. However, fields like pavement and railway engineering still heavily rely on empirically-based models owing to the complex behaviour of these materials, which partly stems from their discrete nature. 4. 4. Flow behavior of asphalt mixtures under compaction

    Författare :Ehsan Ghafoori Roozbahany; Manfred N. Partl; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : Asphalt compaction is one of the most important phases of road construction, being the decisive phase when the structure of the asphalt pavement layer is formed. In spite of its importance, the knowledge about this construction phase is still based on empirical and technological background and therefore surprisingly limited. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Local Social Exposure and Inter-Neighborhood Mobility

    Författare :Alex Giménez de La Prada; Peter Hedström; Eduardo Tapia; Petri Ylikoski; Gianluca Manzo; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Ethnic segregation; residential mobility; social interdependency;

    Sammanfattning : Studies on ethnic residential segregation analyze how the inter-neighborhood mobility of individuals shapes their spatial distribution across cities. This literature has shown that the residential choices of households partly depend on the ethnic composition of their neighborhoods: higher in-group shares promote the presence of more in-group members, and vice versa.
