6. Beta functions and multi-scalar gauge theory
Sammanfattning : In this licentiate thesis, we provide the context and background for our work One-loop algebras and fixed flow trajectories in adjoint multi-scalar gauge theory (published in JHEP) on the renormalization group flow for a multi-scalar SU(N) gauge theory. The background consists of a description of renormalization group flow, with a focus on beta functions andhow to find fixed points, and multi-scalar theories. LÄS MER
7. Restaurant meal experiences from customers' perspectives : a grounded theory approach
Sammanfattning : The purpose of this doctoral dissertation has been to increase the knowledge of customers’ view on relation to commercial restaurant meals and thereby to increase the knowledge within the restaurant industry about customers’ perspectives about meals. The dissertation is based on four studies of customers’ meal experiences in á la Carte restaurants in Norway. LÄS MER
8. Grupprocesser i utbildning : En studie av gruppers dynamik vid problembaserat lärande
Sammanfattning : The main purpose of this thesis is to identify, describe and interpret group processes occurring in tutorials in problem-based leaming. Another aim is to investigate if a combination of Steiner's (1972) theory of group work and Bion's (1961) theory of work and regression in groups may be a fruitful way to interpret and explain group dynamics in problem-based learning. 9. Quasi-Lie Algebras and Quasi-Deformations. Algebraic Structures Associated with Twisted Derivations
Sammanfattning : This thesis introduces a new deformation scheme for Lie algebras, which we refer to as ?quasi-deformations? to clearly distinguish it from the classical Grothendieck-Schlessinger and Gers-tenhaber deformation schemes. The main difference is that quasi-deformations are not in gene-ral category-preserving, i.e. LÄS MER
10. Canonical Bases for Algebraic Computations
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with computational methods in algebra, mainly focusing on the concept of Gröbner and SAGBI bases in non-commutative algebras. The material has a natural division into two parts. The first part is a rather extensive treatment of the basic theory of Gröbner bases and SAGBI bases in the non-commutative polynomial ring. LÄS MER
