11. Family symmetries and radiative corrections in multi-scalar extensions of the Standard Model
Sammanfattning : The four articles contained in this thesis all concern aspects of model building beyond the Standard Model (BSM). While Paper I mainly serves as a ``tool paper'' in which the results can be used to simplify certain calculations of one-loop effects from new heavy particles, Paper II--IV all deal with consequences of family symmetries in several BSM scenarios. 12. Modelling of Care Processes. The use of Simulation Models for the Design of Health Care Environments
Sammanfattning : The necessity to improve the building design process is stressed in many studies. Communication in the early stages of the process is particularly important and it is suggested that this influences the quality of the whole process. LÄS MER
13. Visualisation and Generalisation of 3D City Models
Sammanfattning : 3D city models have been widely used in various applications such as urban planning, traffic control, disaster management etc. Efficient visualisation of 3D city models in different levels of detail (LODs) is one of the pivotal technologies to support these applications. LÄS MER
14. Prediction and experimental validation of dynamic soil-structure interaction of an end-bearing pile foundation in soft clay
Sammanfattning : In the built environment, human activities such as railway and road traffic, constructionworks or industrial manufacturing can give rise to ground borne vibrations. Such vibrations become a concern in urban areas as they can cause human discomfort or disruption of vibration sensitive equipment in buildings. LÄS MER
15. Geographical Information Technologies – Decision Support for Road Maintenance in Uganda
Sammanfattning : This study set out to develop a framework within which the use of Geographical Information Technologies (GITs) can be enhanced in Road Infrastructure Maintenance (RIM) in Uganda. Specifically it was guided by 3 objectives; 1. To assess the gaps in the use of GITs for RIM in Uganda and the limitations to accessing these technologies, 2. LÄS MER
