1. The Pursuit of Relevance : Studies on the Relationships between Accounting and Users
Sammanfattning : Relevance has become one of the key priorities for accounting policy, and implies that accounting should have an impact on the economic decision-making of accounting users. Despite the increased importance given to users, however, little is known concerning the properties of such relevance in practice. LÄS MER
2. Molecular basis for the MHC class II association in rat experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the functional and structural aspects of rat MHC class 11 molecules and studies their influence on MBP- and MOG-peptide induced experimental autoimmune encephalomylitis (EAE) in LEW MHC congenic rat strains. EAE is an animal model for multiple sclerosis (MS) and can be induced in rats with components of the myelin sheath . LÄS MER
3. Fractal superconducting resonators for the interrogation of two-level systems
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we use high-Q superconducting thin-film microwave resonators to interact with several types of quantum mechanical two-level systems. Such a resonator is used as the central building block in a cryogenic near-field scanning microwave microscope (NSMM) to reach a completely new regime of NSMM operation. LÄS MER
4. Novel Pharmacometric Methods for Informed Tuberculosis Drug Development
Sammanfattning : With approximately nine million new cases and the attributable cause of death of an estimated two millions people every year there is an urgent need for new and effective drugs and treatment regimens targeting tuberculosis. The tuberculosis drug development pathway is however not ideal, containing non-predictive model systems and unanswered questions that may increase the risk of failure during late-phase drug development. 5. Social Robots as Intentional Agents
Sammanfattning : Social robots are robots that are intended for social interaction with people. Because of the societal benefits that they are expected to bring, social robots are likely to become more common. LÄS MER
