16. Improving routing in the global Internet
Sammanfattning : Routing is an important part of the Internet and even though routing in the Internet has been investigated since Internet's creation, there are still open issues. Routing protocols have been evolved since the birth of Internet. Currently the Border Gateway Protocol(BGP) is the de-facto standard inter domain routing protocol on the Internet. LÄS MER
17. Studies of Atmospheric Water Vapor Using the Global Positioning System
Sammanfattning : Atmospheric water vapor is of fundamental interest in the Global Positioning System (GPS) and Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) techniques. These techniques are based on the timing of radio waves propagating through the atmosphere. LÄS MER
18. Studies of planetary waves in ozone and temperature fields as observed by the Odin satellite in 2002-2007
Sammanfattning : The results presented in this PhD thesis are mainly based on measurements collected by the advanced sub-mm radiometer (SMR) aboard the Odin satellite in 2002-2007. The primary data are series of temperature and ozone profiles in the middle atmosphere up to 68 km. LÄS MER
19. Dispersive and polarimetric properties of waves in space plasma
Sammanfattning : Various aspects regarding dispersive and polarimetric properties of waves in space plasma are discussed from a theoretical viewpoint, which is extended to include numerical as well as experimental studies. From a more technical viewpoint, two scientific instruments are described. LÄS MER
20. Sensing Atmospheric Water Vapor Using Radio Waves: Studies of the 2, 3 and 4-D Structure of the Atmospheric Water Vapor Using Ground-based Radio Techniques Comprising the Global Positioning System, Microwave Radiometry and Very Long Baseline Interferometry
Sammanfattning : The radio wave propagation time, the primary observable in the geodetic techniques Global Positioning System (GPS) and Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) is affected by the presence of the atmospheric gases. By using appropriate modeling in the post-processing of the recorded phase measurements, together with local meteorological information, it is possible to estimate the total amount of atmospheric water vapor.
