  1. 11. Through the Looking Glass : An Identity-Based View of Place Branding

    Författare :Carola Strandberg; Maria Ek Styvén; Åsa Wallström; Eric Braun; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Place branding; identity-based place branding; place identity; place’s identity; places identity; places identities; place brand identity; place image; place brand image; self-congruity; self-congruence; place attachment; positive word-of-mouth; word-of-mouth; place advocacy; place ambassadorship; likelihood to stay; intention to stay; resident retention; stakeholders; residents; citizens; inhabitants; visitors; co-creators; co-creation; place brand; Industrial Marketing; Industriell marknadsföring;

    Sammanfattning : Places of today face intense global competition for crucial resources. Attracting visitors and retaining residents is vital especially for post-industrial cities and rural places facing a loss of traditional industrial jobs, and urbanization and centralization of the population and economy. 2. 12. Effect of water on the glass transition and properties of solid-state pharmaceutical formulations

    Författare :Ekaterina Bogdanova; Vitaly Kocherbitov; Thomas Rades; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :glass transition; glass transition temperature; relaxation; sucrose; trehalose; maltodextrin; lysozyme; unfolding; hydration; solid-stae; sorption calorimetry; Health and society; Hälsa och samhälle;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to increase our knowledge of the glassy state and the glass transition phenomenon and to evaluate the effect of water on the glassy state. To accomplish this, investigations were focused on the amorphous sucrose-water (paper I, II, III), trehalose-water (paper I), maltodextrin-water (paper I), and lysozyme-sucrose-water (paper IV) systems. 3. 13. Ion exchange processes on float glass surfaces

    Författare :Stefan Karlsson; Bo Jonson; Sven Lidin; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Glasteknologi; Glass Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Glass can be strengthened by ion exchange and this process is presently used inspecial applications e.g. aircraft windshields, displays and spectacle lenses allowinga higher production cost. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Glass Transition Dynamics in Soft Condensed Matter

    Författare :Johan Mattsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; polymer films; beta relaxation; hydrogen bond; glass transition; polymer dynamics; cooperativity; confinement; IXS; Brillouin light scattering; excess wing;

    Sammanfattning : Materials of very different character, ranging from polymers to metals can be made into glasses. The structural and dynamical properties of glass-forming materials are fundamentally different from those found in crystals. Hence, glassy materials exhibit unique characteristics, which make them suitable for a wide range of applications. LÄS MER

    Författare :Johan Bylin; Gunnar K. Pálsson; Ralph H. Scheicher; Gabriella Andersson; Astrid Pundt; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; metallic glass; hydrogen; thin film; density functional theory; stochastic quenching; molecular dynamics; x-ray diffraction; pair distribution function; neutron reflectometry; volume expansion; elastic hydrogen-hydrogen interaction; dipole force tensor; electronic structure; optical conductivity; resistivity; optical transmission; x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy; thermodynamic driving force; Gibbs free energy; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Combining theoretical ab initio calculations with high-purity thin film sample synthesis and in situ measurements is a compelling way to bridge the gap in our understanding concerning hydrogen in metallic glasses, which is the primary work of this dissertation thesis. The main emphasis has been on how hydrogen affects the structure of metallic glasses, and how those changes influence not only the electronic properties of the amorphous metals but also their thermal stability.
