21. Ups and Downs, Violin Bowing as Gesture
Sammanfattning : This thesis is an inquiry into musical interpretation and performance. It builds on my practice as a professional baroque violinist. Qualitative analysis of the video documentation of my individual practise, rehearsals, and concert performances is the core method of the project. LÄS MER
22. Mis-Movements : The Aesthetics of Gesture in Samuel Beckett's Drama
Sammanfattning : This study explores Beckett’s use of physical movements in his plays as part of a strategy to escape the limits of semantic meaning and as an instrument of artistic expression. In a sense, the use of physical movements constitutes a phenomenological, heuristic ‘solution’ to the problem of presentation and representation that Beckett explicitly addresses already in the early 1930s. 23. Bring Your Body into Action : Body Gesture Detection, Tracking, and Analysis for Natural Interaction
Sammanfattning : Due to the large influx of computers in our daily lives, human-computer interaction has become crucially important. For a long time, focusing on what users need has been critical for designing interaction methods. LÄS MER
24. Millimeter-Wave Radar for Low-Power Applications
Sammanfattning : Radar technology has developed rapidly during the last century. Besides its initial use for military, it is nowadays also applied for many civil applications. Improvements in circuit technology make integrated radar sensors possible, allowing a significant reduction of the production cost. LÄS MER
25. On the Utility of Representation Learning Algorithms for Myoelectric Interfacing
Sammanfattning : Electrical activity produced by muscles during voluntary movement is a reflection of the firing patterns of relevant motor neurons and, by extension, the latent motor intent driving the movement. Once transduced via electromyography (EMG) and converted into digital form, this activity can be processed to provide an estimate of the original motor intent and is as such a feasible basis for non-invasive efferent neural interfacing.
