  1. 1. Regulation of gut IgA induction by helper T cells

    Författare :Inta Gribonika; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; mucosal immunology; secretory IgA; T regulatory cells; T follicular helper cells; Th17 cells; Peyer s patches; IgA class-switch recombination; germinal centers;

    Sammanfattning : The gut is the largest lymphoid organ in the body. Due to intense and constant exposure to the outside world, it also functions as the most important portal of entry for many pathogens. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Regulation of the germinal center response by T follicular helper cells and type I interferons

    Författare :Madelene Dahlgren; Adaptivt immunförsvar; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Germinal Center; T follicular helper cell; type I interferon; dendritic cell; adjuvant; differentiation; IgG;

    Sammanfattning : The protective effect of most currently available vaccines is dependent on high-affinity antibodies and long lived B cell memory, which develop within organized structures of secondary lymphoid organs called germinal centers (GCs). GC formation is supported by T follicular helper (Tfh) cells, a subset of CD4+ T cells that develop in parallel to other effector T cells and specifically localizes to B cell follicles. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Germinal centers : why and why not? The humoral response in primary immunodeficiency

    Författare :Carin Dahlberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : An efficient and regulated immune system is required for protection against pathogens. B cells are required for a humoral response. For a sustained humoral response against pathogens germinal center (GC) reactions are required. In the GC reaction, B cells with antigen-specific B cell receptors are selected and expanded. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Regulation of Immunoglobulin Isotype Switching and of the Germinal Center Response

    Författare :Minghui He; Eva Severinson; Jayanta Chaudhuri; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : After stimulation, B cells can undergo two types of genetic alteration in their immunoglobulin (Ig) genes: somatic hypermutation and class switch recombination (CSR), both of which are initiated by activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID).Although class switching requires cell proliferation, the mechanism is partly unknown. 5. 5. The role of Ro52 autoantibodies in congenital heart block

    Författare :Stina Salomonsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Autoantibodies; Ro52; congenital heart block CHB ; Sjögren s syndrome SS ; autoimmunity; inflammation; autoantigen; germinal center GC ;

    Sammanfattning : The presence of B cells producing autoantibodies is a common feature of many autoimmune conditions. The pathogenic role of the autoantibodies is often unclear, but they often serve as diagnostic markers and may be used as prognostic tools in some diseases. LÄS MER
