    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to examine the rewriting of the memoirs of the former pirate Alexander Olivier Exquemelin, Los Piratas de América, originally published in Amsterdam in 1678, which the Mexican writer Carmen Boullosa carries out in two recent novels: Son vacas, somos puercos and El médico de los piratas. In the light of Gérard Genette’s theory of hypertextuality this study deals with the formal as well as the thematic aspects of this rewriting. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is a study of the formation and development of Ciaran Carson’s poetics from his debut in the 1970s up to and including his fourth principal collection of poems, First Language, published in 1993. Examining Carson’s recourse to different kinds of rewriting, made manifest as intertextuality and translation, it aims to account for the thematic formulation and formal realization of this poetics.     Sammanfattning : The two last novels by Richard Hughes (1900-1976), the first in his planned The Human Predicament series, are partly set in Germany in the years between the First and the Second World War. Much of the action in The Fox in the Attic (1961) takes part in and around Munich, culminating in a fictional reconstruction of the so-called Hitler Putsch on November 8-9, 1923, the future dictator's aborted early bid for power.
