  1. 1. Seismics, 2D and 3D Inversion of Magnetotellurics : Jigsaw pieces in understanding the Skellefte Ore District

    Författare :María de los Ángeles García Juanatey; Ari Tryggavson; Ute Weckmann; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Magnetotellurics; 2D inversion; 3D inversion; hard rock seismics; mineral exploration; integrated geophysics; 4D modeling; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics;

    Sammanfattning : The Skellefte District (SD) is one of the richest metallogenic mining areas in Sweden. The main deposits consist of volcanic-hosted massive sulphides (VHMS) rich in zinc, copper, lead, gold and silver, that have been explored and mined for more than a century. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Characterization of the structure, stratigraphy and CO2 storage potential of the Swedish sector of the Baltic and Hanö Bay basins using seismic reflection methods

    Författare :Daniel Sopher; Christopher Juhlin; Alireza Malehmir; Christian Hübscher; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : An extensive multi-channel seismic dataset acquired between 1970 and 1990 by Oljeprospektering AB (OPAB) has recently been made available by the Geological Survey of Sweden (SGU). This thesis summarizes four papers, which utilize this largely unpublished dataset to improve our understanding of the geology and CO2 storage capacity of the Baltic and Hanö Bay basins in southern Sweden. 3. 3. Multidisciplinary Near-Surface Investigation of a Quick-Clay Landslide Prone Area in Southwest Sweden

    Författare :Silvia Salas Romero; Alireza Malehmir; Ian Snowball; Christopher Juhlin; Laura Valentina Socco; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quick-clay; reflection seismic; landslide; southwest Sweden; borehole logging; physico-chemical properties; hydrogeological modelling; multichannel analysis of surface waves; magnetics; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Quick-clay landslides are considered one of the most important geohazards in Sweden, Norway, and Canada. The deposits involved are glacial and postglacial clays and silty clays, which are very sensitive to increased stress that may collapse their structure and cause liquefaction. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Plane wave electromagnetic measurements for imaging fracture zones

    Författare :Lena Persson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geophysics; Electromagnetic Measurements Fracture Zones; Geofysik; Geophysics; Geofysik; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Electromagnetic fields from distant radio transmitters interact with the resistivity structures in the earth. They can be regarded as plane-wave fields since their penetration depth is much smaller than their wavelength. LÄS MER

  5. 5. New Techniques for Estimation of Source Parameters : Applications to Airborne Gravity and Pseudo-Gravity Gradient Tensors

    Författare :Majid Beiki; Laust Pedersen; Mehrdad Bastani; Mark Pilkington; Uppsala universitet; []
