11. Combinatorial Methods in Complex Analysis
Sammanfattning : The theme of this thesis is combinatorics, complex analysis and algebraic geometry. The thesis consists of six articles divided into four parts.Part A: Spectral properties of the Schrödinger equationThis part consists of Papers I-II, where we study a univariate Schrödinger equation with a complex polynomial potential. 12. Topics in analytic theory of partial differential equations
Sammanfattning : The thesis consists of three papers I, II III devoted to some topics in analytic theory of partial differential equations. The main paper is II. In this paper we study a version of the classical problem on the convergence of formal solutions of systems of partial differential equations. LÄS MER
13. Topics in geometry, analysis and inverse problems
Sammanfattning : The thesis consists of three independent parts.Part I: Polynomial amoebasWe study the amoeba of a polynomial, as de ned by Gelfand, Kapranov and Zelevinsky. A central role in the treatment is played by a certain convex function which is linear in each complement component of the amoeba, which we call the Ronkin function. LÄS MER
14. Algorithmic Methods in Combinatorial Algebra
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of a collection of articles all using and/or developing algorithmic methods for the investigation of different algebraic structures. Part A concerns orthogonal decompositions of simple Lie algebras. The main result of this part is that the symplectic Lie algebra C3 has no orthogonal decomposition of so called monomial type. 15. On Postbuckling Analysis of Thin-walled Structures Numerical and Statistical Approaches
Sammanfattning : Thin-walled structural elements, such as plates, shells and beams are important load carrying components in civil-, mechanical-, automotive- aeronautical- and marine engineering structures. In order to reduce the weight thin-walled structures are given an optimum design making them sensitive to unforeseen deviations in geometry, boundary conditions, material properties and applied loads.
