1. Impedance and Instabilities in the MAX IV 3 GeV Ring
Sammanfattning : To ensure the beam with an ultralow emittance and high current the possible effects deteriorating the beam stability must be investigated. When ultrarelativistic particles travel in the vacuum chamber they induce electromagnetic fields which can act back on them and the following particles. LÄS MER
2. Enhancements in Dielectric Response Characterization of Insulation Materials
Sammanfattning : The increasing demand of integrating various renewable energy recourses in power system requires extensive use of power electronic solutions, such as HVDC and FACTS, as these techniques allow energy conversion between different frequencies and serves to stabilize the network. Consequently, electric stresses other than traditional 50/60 Hz sinusoidal voltage stress are acting on high voltage insulation materials. LÄS MER
3. On biomedical electrode technology : with special reference to long-term properties and movement-induced noise in surface electrodes
Sammanfattning : The aim of the present investigation was to improve the quality of surface electrode measurements. Long-term properties of commercially available ECG-electrodes were studied by investigating polarization potentials, electrode impedance, adhesion and skin reactions during a period of 7 days. 4. Superinductance and fluctuating two-level systems: Loss and noise in disordered and non-disordered superconducting quantum devices
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we first demonstrate that a disordered superconductor with high kinetic inductance can realise a microwave low-loss, non-dissipative circuit element with impedance greater than the quantum resistance. This element, known as a superinductor, can suppress the fluctuations of charge in a quantum circuit. LÄS MER
5. Inventory of geomechanical phenomena related to train-induced vibrations from tunnels
Sammanfattning : Banverket is expecting that the number of railway tunnels in densely populated areas will increase over the next 20 years due to the lack of available space on the ground surface, but also since the railway is considered an environmentally friendly solution of transportation for the future. The need for good predictions of vibration and noise levels in dwellings along the planned tunnels is therefore evident. LÄS MER
