21. Toward fully automatic earthquake detection and processing for tomography in the Hengill area
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the automation of seismic data analysis, in particular, event detection, quality assessment of detected events, and preparation of an earthquake catalogue for seismic tomography. The developed event detector uses back-propagation and stacking of a seismic trace attribute with a known velocity model to detect and locate events. 22. Time-lapse Analysis of Borehole and Surface Seismic Data, and Reservoir Characterization of the Ketzin CO2 Storage Site, Germany
Sammanfattning : The CO2SINK (and CO2MAN) project is the first onshore CO2 storage project in Europe. The research site is located near the town of Ketzin, close to Potsdam in Germany. Injection started in June 2008, with a planned injection target of 100,000 tonnes of CO2. LÄS MER
23. EnviroMT : A new controlled source/radio magnetotoelluric system
Sammanfattning : In the frame of an EU project, a new electromagnetic prospecting instrument was designed and constructed for environmental and engineering applications. The instrument works in the frequency domain in the band 1-250 kHz, whereby the collected data can be used to study the variation of ground resistivity from the surface to a maximum depth of few hundred meters. 24. Application of the Seismic Reflection Method in Mineral Exploration and Crustal Imaging : Contributions to Hardrock Seismic Imaging
Sammanfattning : The seismic reflection method has been used extensively in mineral exploration and for imaging crustal structures within hardrock environments. In this research the seismic reflection method has been used and studied to address problems associated with hardrock settings. LÄS MER
25. 3D Structure and Emplacement of the Alnö Alkaline and Carbonatite Complex, Sweden : Integrated Geophysical and Physical Property Investigations
Sammanfattning : Carbonatites are carbonate-rich magmatic rocks that are rare and of great relevance for our understanding of crustal and mantle processes. Although found on all continents and in settings ranging from Archaean to present-day, their deeper plumbing system is still poorly understood. LÄS MER
