2. Opening Pandora's Box : Exploring Flexibilities and Alternatives for Protecting Traditional Knowledge and Genetic Resources under the Intellectual Property Framework
Sammanfattning : What happens when resources get valuable and scarce? How is Intellectual Property dealing with market failures related to sub-patentable innovation or purely traditional knowledge with interesting applications? The protection of traditional knowledge and genetic resources (TKGR) has been one of the major modern challenges in international IP law. The entry into force of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and its implementation in national legislation has created more questions than the ones it answered. LÄS MER
3. Towards improved management of Lynch syndrome; ovarian cancer profiles, risk perception, knowledge and family perspectives

Cancer develops at an early age and one third of the individuals are affected by a metachronous cancer. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : Although the theory behind the mechanisms generating intrinsic post-zygotic isolation is well established, very few concrete examples of genetic incompatibilities have been described, especially in vertebrates. Consequently, our understanding of the evolutionary forces shaping the appearance of genetic incompatibilities between natural populations and the overall role of genetic incompatibilities in the speciation process is limited. 5. Hidden biodiversity in an alpine freshwater top predator : Existence, characteristics, and temporal dynamics of cryptic, sympatric brown trout populations
Sammanfattning : Intraspecific genetic diversity is imperative to the survival of species in a changing environment, and it plays a vital role in ecosystem function. Since this type of diversity can be difficult to detect it is sometimes referred to as “hidden biodiversity”. LÄS MER
