16. Genetic studies in mood disorders
Sammanfattning : Mood disorders, including bipolar disorder (BPD) and major depressive disorder (MDD), are highly complex psychiatric disorders. Decades of genetic studies have generated a large number of putative genetic susceptibility variants. However, with exception of CACNA1C, SYNE1 and ANK3 in BPD no robust association has as yet been identified. LÄS MER
17. Biomimetic Software Engineering Techniques for Dependability
Sammanfattning : The powerful information processing capabilities of computers have made them an indispensable part of our modern societies. As we become more reliant on computers and want them to handle more critical and difficult tasks it becomes important that we can depend on the software that controls them. LÄS MER
18. Mapping Concurrent Applications to Multiprocessor Systems with Multithreaded Processors and Network on Chip-Based Interconnections
Sammanfattning : Network on Chip (NoC) architectures provide scalable platforms for designing Systems on Chip (SoC) with large number of cores. Developing products and applications using an NoC architecture offers many challenges and opportunities. A tool which can map an application or a set of applications to a given NoC architecture will be essential. LÄS MER
19. Runtime Management of Multiprocessor Systems for Fault Tolerance, Energy Efficiency and Load Balancing
Sammanfattning : Efficiency of modern multiprocessor systems is hurt by unpredictable events: aging causes permanent faults that disable components; application spawnings and terminations taking place at arbitrary times, affect energy proportionality, causing energy waste; load imbalances reduce resource utilization, penalizing performance. This thesis demonstrates how runtime management can mitigate the negative effects of unpredictable events, making decisions guided by a combination of static information known in advance and parameters that only become known at runtime. 20. End-to-End Quality of Service Guarantees for Wireless Sensor Networks
Sammanfattning : Wireless sensor networks have been a key driver of innovation and societal progressover the last three decades. They allow for simplicity because they eliminate ca-bling complexity while increasing the flexibility of extending or adjusting networksto changing demands. LÄS MER
