  1. 1. Beyond Generative Sufficiency : On Interactions, Heterogeneity & Middle-Range Dynamics

    Författare :Martin Arvidsson; Peter Hedström; Marc Keuschnigg; Duncan Watts; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Collective dynamics; Social networks; Heterogeneity; Digital trace data; Agent-based simulation; Social mechanisms; Analytical sociology; Computational social science;

    Sammanfattning : Explaining how properties at the level of individuals translate into properties at the level of collectives is a core objective of sociology. Because the social world is characterized by complex webs of social interdependencies, establishing how micro and macro are related to one another requires a detailed understanding of how individuals are influenced by their social environments and the consequences that such influences have for the dynamics of the social process. 2. 2. Design, innovation och andra paradoxer: om förändring satt i system

    Författare :Håkan Edeholt; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; generative X; design science; designerly theorization; industrial design; innovative design; feminist standpoint theory;

    Sammanfattning : Based on what I call 'designerly theorization' the dissertation tries to go beyond the divide between theoretical versus practical approaches and inside versus outside perspectives. 'Designerly theorization' is here an approach that raises theoretical issues concerning 'innovative design'. LÄS MER

  3. 3. From Model to Module: A move towards generative choreography

    Författare :Rasmus Ölme; Leif Dahlberg; Chrysa Parkinson; André Lepecki; Stockholms konstnärliga högskola; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; choreography; module; artistic research; dance technique; Koreografi; Konstnärlig forskning; dansteknik; Performativa och mediala praktiker; Performative and media based practices; Media Technology;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis engages in Choreography and Dance Technique by delineating the concepts and practices that the artistic research project MODUL has generated. A modular method of choreographing is articulated. The MODUL method of choreography starts by making a topographical movement analysis of the context that the work engages with. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Processer och motorer i lokalt skolförbättringsarbete

    Författare :Katharina Jacobsson; Ulf Blossing; Elisabet Nihlfors; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Change processes; emergent change; generative mechanism; motors; planned change; school improvement; ‘Scope for Action Model’; strategy; förändringsprocess; framväxande förändringar; frirumsstrategin; generativa mekanismer; generativa motorer; planerad förändring; skolförbättring; strategi; Education; Pedagogik;

    Sammanfattning : In the last decades there has been a growing interest in studying processes in improvement work. A particular interest has been the improvement process that the organisation undergoes and why events evolve in the way they do. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Machine Learning Methods for Image Analysis in Medical Applications, from Alzheimer's Disease, Brain Tumors, to Assisted Living

    Författare :Chenjie Ge; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; convolutional neural networks; Alzheimer s disease detection; machine learning; deep learning; fall detection; glioma subtype classification; generative adversarial networks; recurrent convolutional networks; spiking neural networks; visual prosthesis; semi-supervised learning;

    Sammanfattning : Healthcare has progressed greatly nowadays owing to technological advances, where machine learning plays an important role in processing and analyzing a large amount of medical data. This thesis investigates four healthcare-related issues (Alzheimer's disease detection, glioma classification, human fall detection, and obstacle avoidance in prosthetic vision), where the underlying methodologies are associated with machine learning and computer vision.
