  1. 21. Cardiac hypertrophy : transcription patterns, hypertrophic progression and extracellular signalling

    Författare :Nina Gennebäck; Stellan Mörner; Anders Waldenström; Urban Hellman; Ali J Marian; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cardiac hypertrophy; HCM; gene expression; OPLS-DA; multivariate dataanalysis; cardiomyocytes; exosomes; microvesicles; Medicine; medicin;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The aim of this thesis was to study transcription patterns and extracellular signalling of the hypertrophic heart to better understand the mechanisms initiating, controlling and maintaining cardiac hypertrophy.Cardiac hypertrophy is a risk factor for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. 2. 22. p63 – from expression to function : studies of normal oral mucosa and squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck

    Författare :Niklas Thurfjell; Karin Nylander; Phillip Coates; Göran Roos; Luisa Guerrini; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; p63; SCCHN; p53; BRCA1; Pathology; Patologi;

    Sammanfattning : The human p63 gene discovered in 1997 encodes a series of protein isoforms that differ in their N- and/or C-terminal sequences. These isoforms have widely differing properties in promoting or repressing p53-related functions such as growth arrest and apoptosis. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Prognostic and treatment predictive factors for radio- and chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer patients- a step towards personlized medicine

    Sammanfattning : Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) both belong to the group of mature B-cell malignancies. However, MCL is typically clinically aggressive while the clinical course of CLL varies. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Genomic characterization of ETV6/RUNX1-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia

    Författare :Henrik Lilljebjörn; Avdelningen för klinisk genetik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SNP array; array CGH; ETV6 RUNX1-positive ALL; childhood ALL; exome sequencing;

    Sammanfattning : The t(12;21) translocation generates the ETV6/RUNX1 fusion gene, present in 25% of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia. This fusion gene is important for leukemia development but is not sufficient for leukemia to arise. LÄS MER
