1. Raffinerade rum : Bensinstationer och precisionskultur i Sverige 1926-1956
Sammanfattning : International petrol companies established themselves in Sweden in the mid-1920s and took control of the petrol trade in a manner that, within a relatively short space of time, left a clear imprint on the natural and built environments. The absence of petrol stations from the narrative of modern architecture raises questions about how this type of building should be understood. LÄS MER
2. Evaporative Cycles - in Theori and in Practise
Sammanfattning : The thesis is based on applied research, rather closed to industrial development. The developed simulation model, for pre-design of evaporative gas turbine cycles, has been validated in a 600 kW pilot plant and in rebuilt turbo-charged diesel engines. LÄS MER
3. Constructing and Commissioning HELIOS – A High Harmonic Generation Source for Pump-Probe Measurements with sub 50 fs Temporal Resolution : The Development of Experimental Equipment for Extreme Ultraviolet Spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents HELIOS, an in-house laboratory for time-resolved pump-probe spectroscopy with extreme-ultraviolet (XUV) probe radiation. A wide span of pump wavelengths can be generated using commercial laser equipment while XUV probe radiation is generated via a high harmonic generation process in a noble gas delivering probe photons with energies between 20 eV and 72 eV. 4. Simulation Studies for Improved Efficiency in Road and Rail Freight Transports
Sammanfattning : The demand for road and rail freight transport continues to grow with the expanding economy, while the climate crisis requires reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, tools and solutions for reducing fossil fuel use and enabling more efficient use of infrastructure are needed. LÄS MER
5. Remote Measurements of Gas and Particulate Matter Emissions from Individual Ships
Sammanfattning : Shipping significantly contributes to the world's anthropogenic emissions of sulfur, nitrogen species and particulate matter. These species affect the global radiative forcing as well as local acidification, eutrophication and human health. LÄS MER
