21. Sense, Actuate and Survive : Ceramic Microsystems for High-Temperature Aerospace Applications
Sammanfattning : In aerospace applications, but also in manufacturing, mining, energy industry and natural hazards, high temperature, corrosion, erosion and radiation, challenge the performance and being of hardware. In this work, high-temperature co-fired ceramic (HTCC) alumina and platinum have been used for a range of devices intended for aerospace applications at up to 1000°C. 22. Turbo Charged Low Temperature Combustion - Experiments, Modeling and Control
Sammanfattning : Both the global economy and the society in general are dependent on the availability of reliable transportation. Most transportation technology involves the use of internal combustion engines in one way or another. LÄS MER
23. Studies on Lean NOx Reduction with Ammonia. Catalysts and Sensors
Sammanfattning : Selective catalytic reduction of NOx with ammonia, NH3-SCR, is a promising technique to reduce NOx under lean conditions, e.g. in diesel engine exhausts. The main objective of this thesis was to gain further understanding of key parameters affecting the performance of catalysts and sensors for NH3-SCR. LÄS MER
24. Energy Harvesting for Wireless and Less-Wired Sensors in Gas Turbines
Sammanfattning : Four types of energy harvesters aimed for gas turbine applications were developed during this thesis. The unique gas turbine environment shaped the design- and material choices. A semiconductor thermoelectric harvester was built for a location in the gas turbine with active cooling at 600°C, with 800°C wall temperature. LÄS MER
25. Interactions of methane and carbon monoxide with platinum - Supported catalysts and chemical sensors
Sammanfattning : This thesis aims at increasing the understanding of the interactions of methane and carbon monoxide with platinum in connection to catalysis and sensor technology for emission control. Specifically, the low-temperature oxidation of methane and carbon monoxide over supported platinum catalysts and the sensor response mechanism towards CO of platinum-based chemical field effect sensors were studied.
