    Sammanfattning : The world is today facing a serious problem with global warming, which is heading towards an appallingly high temperature level. The greater part of the overall climate science community agree that global warming is caused by the greenhouse effect, which depends largely on emitted CO2 emissions from the combustion of fossil fuel. 2. 2. Co-combustion of biomass and waste fuels in a fluidised bed boiler : fuel synergism

    Författare :Anna-Lena Elled; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; co-combustion; biomass; municipal sewage sludge; fluidised bed; combustion; Energi och material;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this work was to study co-combustion of biomass and waste fuels in a circulating fluidised bed boiler and to detect synergy effects with respect to flue gas composition and ash formation during boiler operation. It was also the aim to perform supplementary thermodynamic equilibrium calculations in order to support the experimental results. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Gas turbines have served as economically profitable and reliable generators of power for the past few decades, and have mainly been used in simple and combined cycles. The increased restrictions on hazardous emissions and the increased demand for profitability have created new prospects for innovative power cycles. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Experimental Investigations on Natural Gas-Diesel Dual Fuel Combustion

    Författare :Pablo Garcia; Förbränningsmotorer; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Dual Fuel; Diesel; Natural Gas; Pilot Injection; Combustion Efficiency; Methane; Nitrogen Oxides; Lean operation; Ignition;

    Sammanfattning : Natural gas has been traditionally applied in spark-ignited combustion engines due to similar combustion characteristics for methane gas and gasoline. However, spark ignition requires a low compression ratio to avoid knock problems and therefore, gas engines have lower efficiency than diesel engines. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Forest-Fuel Systems : Comparative Analyses in a Life Cycle Perspective

    Författare :Lisa Näslund Eriksson; Leif Gustavsson; Antti Asikainen; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; forest fuels; recovery systems; transportation; cost; primary energy use; CO2 emission; forest-fuel potential; life cycle perspective; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Forest fuels can be recovered, stored and handled in several ways and these different ways have different implications for CO2 emissions. In this thesis, comparative analyses were made on different forest-fuel systems. The analyses focused on the recovery and transport systems. LÄS MER
