  1. 21. Studies of Volcanic Plumes with Remote Spectroscopic Sensing Techniques -DOAS and FTIR measurements on volcanoes of the Network for Observation of Volcanic and Atmospheric Change-

    Författare :Santiago Arellano; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; FTIR; Remote Sensing; DOAS; NOVAC; Volcanic gas emissions;

    Sammanfattning : Volcanism is a rich geodynamical process, closely linked to the origin and ongoing evolution of the lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere. Humans have benefited from the resources provided by volcanoes but also been threatened by the dangers of volcanic eruptions, which accurate prediction remains elusive. LÄS MER

  2. 22. On the Spray Forming of Metals, the Formation of Porosity and the Heat Evolution during Solidification

    Författare :José Tinoco; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Thermal analysis; Nodular Cast Iron; Inconel 625; CFD; Flow Assesment; Multiphase Flow; Spray Deposition; Microporosity; Superalloys;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the heat evolution duringsolidification and its relation to the formation of porosity.It intends to improve the current understanding of theformation of porosity in cast materials with special interestin nodular cast iron and the spray forming process. 3. 23. Microstructure evolution of Ti-based and Cr cathodes during arc discharging and its impact on coating growth

    Författare :Jianqiang Zhu; Magnus Odén; Johanna Rosén; Lars Hultman; Flavio Soldera; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the microstructure evolution of cathodes with various material compositions and grain sizes during cathodic arc evaporation processes as well as the impact on the arc movement, and the microstructure and properties of the deposited nitride coatings. The studied cathode material systems include conventionally metal forged Ti and Ti -Si cathodes, novel Ti3SiC2 MAX-phase cathodes, and dedicatedly designed powder-metallurgical Ti-Si and Cr cathodes with different grain size. Författare :Cheng-Han Yu; Johan Moverare; Ru Lin Peng; Christian Leinenbach; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Laser powder bed fusion; Slow strain rate tensile testing; Short-term creep; Low cycle fatigue; Neutrons; Anisotropy; Crystallographic texture; Microstruc-ture; Dislocation structure; Lasersmältning i pulverbädd; Provning med långsam töjningshastighet; korttidskryp; Lågcykelutmattning; Neutroner; Anisotropi; Kristallografisk textur; Mikrostruktur; Dislokationsstruktur;

    Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing, is a general concept of building a three-dimensional object layer-by-layer. AM breaks through the manufacturing limitations in conventionally subtractive manufacturing, leading to a great design freedom of components with complex geometries. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Ethylene and Auxin in the Control of Wood Formation

    Författare :Jenny Maria Hellgren; SLU; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; auxin ; ethylene ; lignification ; growth rate ; fibres ; cambium ; gas chromatography ; reaction wood ; organic acids ; mass spectrometry ; populus tremula ; pinus sylvestris; biology; biologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis considers aspects of the regulation of growth rate and fibre properties in forest trees. These properties are both genetically determined and influenced by environmental stimuli. Induction of reaction wood is an environmentally induced process involving changes in growth rate and fibre properties that can be readily studied. LÄS MER
