16. Production and emission of CO2 in two unproductive lakes in northern Sweden
Sammanfattning : Unproductive lakes are one of few natural landscape compartments with net release of carbon to the atmosphere. Lakes also generally decrease the net terrestrial carbon uptake, since most of the CO2 production in unproductive lakes are derived from organic carbon produced on land (e.g. in forests). LÄS MER
17. Molecular gas in the galaxy M83 : Its distribution, kinematics, and relation to star formation
Sammanfattning : The barred spiral galaxy M83 (NGC5236) has been observed in the 12CO J=1–0 and J=2–1 millimetre lines with the Swedish-ESO Submillimetre Telescope (SEST). The sizes of the CO maps are 100×100, and they cover the entire optical disk. The CO emission is strongly peaked toward the nucleus. LÄS MER
18. Application of scattered sunlight spectroscopy for quantification of gas emissions from anthropogenic and natural sources
Sammanfattning : Monitoring of gas emissions from natural and anthropogenic sources is of importance due to their negative effects on human health, atmospheric quality and ecosystems. Concern over air pollution has increased the need to develop measurement techniques suitable for gas flux determination. LÄS MER
19. The Character of the Particle Emissions from Possible Future Marine Fuels in SOx ECAs
Sammanfattning : Particles in the ambient air come from both natural and anthropogenic sources. One anthropogenic source is combustion of fossil fuels. The awareness of these particles impact on human health and climate has increased the interest for the particle emissions from e.g. LÄS MER
20. Development of LPP-Burner for Industrial Gas Turbine Application
Sammanfattning : This thesis reports the work done in the development of a modified Lean Premix Prevaporised (LPP) burner for the use in Alstom Power Sweden’s industrial gas turbines. Incentive for the development of the modified burner have been the need to increase the flame stability over the operating range for the burner, especially for the liquid fuel but also the gaseous fuel operation.
