  1. 1. Influence of paper properties and polymer coatings on barrier properties of greaseproof paper

    Författare :Henrik Kjellgren; Gunnar Engström; Lars Järnström; Lennart Stolpe; Torbjörn Helle; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Greaseproof paper; Barrier properties; Gas barrier; Paper properties; Coatings; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Greaseproof paper has a dense structure and therefore provides a natural barrier against materials like fat and oils. The barrier is obtained by extensive refining of the pulp. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Thermal Barrier Coatings : Durability Assessment and Life Prediction

    Författare :Robert Eriksson; Sten Johansson; Michael Schütze; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Thermal barrier coating (TBC) systems are coating systems containing a metallic bond coat and a ceramic top coat. TBCs are used in gas turbines for thermal insulation and oxidation resistance. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) use in the hot sections of gas turbine engine enables them to run at higher temperatures, and as a consequence, achieve higher thermal efficiency. For full operational exploitation of TBCs, understanding their failure and knowing the service life is essential. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Alternative methods for analysing moisture transport in buildings : Utilisation of tracer gas and natural stable isotopes

    Författare :Kjartan Gudmundsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tracer gas; water vapour permeability; diffusion; surface diffusion; isotopic analysis; deuterium; oxygen-18; fractionation; vapour barrier; transient numerical modelling of diffusion; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : New methods, based on tracer gas measurements and isotopicanalysis can be used to evaluate the moisture properties ofbuilding materials and provide the means for forensic analysisof the origins and history of excessive water in buildings, theimmediate practical consequences of which will be the abilityto improve the moisture performance of constructions. It is shown, in theory and through measurements how thewater vapour permeability of porous building materials can witha good degree of accuracy be estimated with tracer gasmeasurements that provide an efficient alternative to the cupmethod. 5. 5. Mechanical Behaviour of Gas Turbine Coatings

    Författare :Mats Eskner; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :thermal barrier coatings; TBC; small punch test; miniaturised disc bending test; mdbt; spherical indentation; gas turbine coatings; NiAl; NiCoCrAlY; NiCrAlY; mechanical properties;

    Sammanfattning : Coatings are frequently applied on gas turbine components inorder to restrict surface degradation such as corrosion andoxidation of the structural material or to thermally insulatethe structural material against the hot environment, therebyincreasing the efficiency of the turbine. However, in order toobtain accurate lifetime expectancies and performance of thecoatings system it is necessary to have a reliableunderstanding of the mechanical properties and failuremechanisms of the coatings.
