  1. 1. Gait re-education in transfemoral amputees The training programme, gait analysis, oxygen consumption and coping

    Författare :Catharina Sjödahl Hammarlund; Människan i rörelse: hälsa och rehabilitering; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physical medicine; kinesitherapy; revalidation; rehabilitation; a psychologically conscious therapeutic approach; coping; energy cost; oxygen consumption; motion analysis; gait speed; amputees; training; gait re-education; Rehabilitering medicinsk och social ;

    Sammanfattning : A gait re-education programme, combining physiotherapy with a psychologically conscious therapeutic approach, was applied to nine unilateral transfemoral amputees, whose amputation was caused by trauma or tumour. The participants trained once a week for a mean 10 months. The median age was 33 years (range 16– 51). LÄS MER

  2. 2. “Taking the next step” : whole-body biomechanical gait analysis, and user-perspectives on robotic-assisted gait training post-stroke

    Författare :Heidi Nedergård; Charlotte Häger; Marlene Sandlund; Susanne Palmcrantz; Erika Franzén; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; stroke; robotic-assisted; electro-mechanical; gait training; gait analysis; user-perspectives; kinematics; physiotherapy; fysioterapi;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Stroke, and its subsequent motor function impairments may result in limited gait ability characterised by compensatory movement patterns that include deviations and asymmetries. How these movement patterns should be evaluated and quantified in order to be monitored and treated in the long term is not yet standardised. LÄS MER

  3. 3. MUSCLE STRENGTH, GROSS MOTOR FUNCTION AND GAIT PATTERN IN CHILDREN WITH CEREBRAL PALSY

    Författare :Meta Nyström Eek; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; child; muscle strength; reference values; cerebral palsy; motor skills; gait; resistance training;

    Sammanfattning : Aim The main purpose was to explore the relationship between muscle strength and walking ability in children with bilateral spastic cerebral palsy (CP), and to analyse whether muscle strength training can improve walking ability. Another aim was to establish normative values for muscle strength in terms of torque in typically developing children and adolescents, and in relation to sex, age and body weight. LÄS MER

  4. 4. STRENGTH TRAINING AFTER STROKE: EFFECTS ON MUSCLE FUNCTION, GAIT PERFORMANCE AND PERCEIVED PARTICIPATION

    Författare :Ulla-Britt Flansbjer; Geriatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neuropsychology; neurophysiology; Reproducibility; Neurology; Rehabilitation; sceletal; Muscle; Cerebrovascular Accident; Gait; Neurologi; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to evaluate the effects of strength training on muscle function, gait performance and perceived participation in subjects with chronic mild to moderate post-stroke hemiparesis. A main impairment after stroke is reduced muscle strength. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Enriched, task specific therapy in the chronic phase after stroke

    Författare :Sara Vive; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; stroke; enriched environment; rehabilitation; intense training; qualitative research; gait analysis; gait speed; function; activity; participation; health;

    Sammanfattning : Recovery and improvement of motor functions and abilities after stroke depend on the spontaneous recovery process but also on the reorganization of neural mechanisms. In animal studies, an Enriched Environment (EE) has proved to be an effective intervention for boosting brain plasticity and recovery after stroke. LÄS MER
