The first paper investigates family earnings mobility between parents and sons, and parents and daughters, highlighting the role of assortative mating.    Sammanfattning : Earnings of Swedish Young Men: Griliches’ (1976) study on the wage premium for formal schooling in America is replicated on the Swedish Malmö Longitudinal Study, an individual data base with unusually good ability measures collected at young age. Combining register panel data on birth outcomes and family characteristics with pollution data, I estimate the effect of particulate matter (PM10) on several birth outcomes that previously have been shown to be predictive of future outcomes.
