  1. 1. Investigation of the functionality related characteristics of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose for the release from matrix tablets

    Författare :Anna Viridén; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; functionality related characteristics; batch-to-batch variation; hydrophilic matrix tablets; hydroxypropyl methylcellulose; polymer characterisation; heterogeneous; drug release;

    Sammanfattning : Hydrophilic matrix tablets are a compressed well mixed composite of drug substance and excipients including a hydrophilic polymer. When the tablet comes in contact with biological fluids, the hydrophilic polymer starts to dissolve, a process that decreases the water penetration through the tablet and involves dimensional changes of the tablet due to swelling of the solvated polymers. 2. 2. Urban Ecosystem Services : The Value of Green Spaces in Cities

    Författare :Johannes Langemeyer; Thomas Elmqvist; Erik Gómez-Baggethun; Kai Chan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Urban; ecosystem services; valuation; vetenskap om hållbar utveckling; Sustainability Science;

    Sammanfattning : In an ever more urban world, the role of green spaces in cities is increasingly highlighted for their capacity to provide ecosystem services for human well-being. Yet, the value of urban green spaces is still widely overlooked in urban policy and planning. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Contested Landscapes : social-ecological interactions between forestry and reindeer husbandry

    Författare :Tim Horstkotte; Jon Moen; Camilla Sandström; Micheline Manseau; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURAL SCIENCES; Reindeer husbandry; forestry; adaptive capacity; arboreal lichens; snow; winter pasture; natural resource management; multiple use; land-use conflict; habitat fragmentation;

    Sammanfattning : Throughout northern Fennoscandia, reindeer husbandry is a central part in the cultural heritage of the Sámi people. In its history, Sámi culture and reindeer husbandry have undergone significant adaptations to environmental, social and political challenges. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Identification and Variation of some Functionality Related Characteristics of Pharmaceutically Relevant Solid Materials and their Effect on Product Performance

    Författare :Frauke Fichtner; Göran Alderborn; Åke Rasmuson; Peter Kleinebudde; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Pharmaceutics; Particle size distribution; Degree of agglomeration; Amorphous lactose; Matrix agglomerates; Drug release; Compactability; Tablet tensile strength; Particle fracture strength; Surfactant; Compression; Galenisk farmaci;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to identify some functionality related characteristics of pharmaceutically relevant solid materials and to study the effect of their variation on processing behaviour and product performance. For this purpose, particles with different characteristics were prepared under a variety of conditions by crystal agglomeration, wet granulation and spray drying. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Polarization characteristics in polyelectrolyte thin film capacitors : Targeting field-effect transistors and sensors

    Författare :Oscar Larsson; Xavier Crispin; Magnus Berggren; Nathaniel Robinson; Ludvig Edman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Polymers are very attractive materials that can be tailored for specific needs and functionality. They can for instance be made electrically insulating or (semi)conducting, with specific mechanical properties. Polymers are often processable from a solution, which enables the use of low-cost manufacturing techniques to fabricate polymer devices. LÄS MER
