  1. 6. Optimization of truck tyres selection

    Författare :Zuzana Nedelkova; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; radial basis function; categorical variables; truck tyres; simulation-based optimization; surrogate model; approximately optimal solution; efficient solution; rolling resistance coefficient; vehicle dynamics; simulation-based optimization;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis, which consists of an introduction and five appended papers, concerns the optimal selection of tyres for a variety of vehicle configurations as well as operating environments. The selection problem stems from a project cooperation between Chalmers University of Technology and Volvo Group Trucks Technology. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Mechatronic aspects of an innovative two-axle railway vehicle

    Författare :Rocco Libero Giossi; Sebastian Stichel; Tian Xiang Mei; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Farkostteknik; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Within the Shift2Rail research program the goals for a sustainable growth of the railway sector are set. Among these are substantial reduction of Life Cycle Costs, improved reliability and energy efficiency, the reductionof noise emissions, and the achievement of full interoperability of the rolling stock. 3. 8. On Rail Vehicle Dynamics in Unsteady Crosswind Conditions : Studies Related to Modelling, Model Validation and Active Suspension

    Författare :Dirk Thomas; Berg Mats; Sebastian Stichel; Jordi Vinolas; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Järnvägsgruppen - Fordonsteknik; Järnvägsgruppen - Fordonsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Crosswind stability of rail vehicles has been a research area for several decades, mainlymotivated by vehicle overturning accidents and higher speeds, but in recent times also byissues of lower energy consumption and track maintenance costs demanding lower vehi-cle weights. During everyday operation, rail vehicles are subjected to substantial lateralinfluences from track curves, track irregularities and crosswind, leading to large suspen-sion deflections and increased crosswind sensitivity. Författare :Xin Tao; Jonas Mårtensson; Tony Lindgren; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Driverless vehicles; Integrated vehicle health management; Automated decision-making; Fault diagnosis; Public-private partnership.; Förarlösa fordon; Integrerad fordonshälsohantering; Automatiserat beslutsfattande; Feldiagnostik; Offentligt-privat partnerskap.; Machine Design; Maskinkonstruktion;

    Sammanfattning : Vehicles are becoming increasingly complex and are prone to faults and failures, which threaten the dependability of vehicles in terms of availability, reliability, safety, and security. When vehicles are detected with certain types of faults and get into alarm situations, human drivers play a vital role in deciding what strategies and actions to take. Sammanfattning : The feasibility of the use of large-eddy simulation (LES) in external vehicle aerodynamics is investigated. The computational requirement for LES of the full size car at road conditions is beyond the capability of computers in the near future. Since LES cannot be used for quantitative prediction of this flow, i.e. LÄS MER
