  1. 11. Alternative methods for analysing moisture transport in buildings : Utilisation of tracer gas and natural stable isotopes

    Författare :Kjartan Gudmundsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tracer gas; water vapour permeability; diffusion; surface diffusion; isotopic analysis; deuterium; oxygen-18; fractionation; vapour barrier; transient numerical modelling of diffusion; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : New methods, based on tracer gas measurements and isotopicanalysis can be used to evaluate the moisture properties ofbuilding materials and provide the means for forensic analysisof the origins and history of excessive water in buildings, theimmediate practical consequences of which will be the abilityto improve the moisture performance of constructions. It is shown, in theory and through measurements how thewater vapour permeability of porous building materials can witha good degree of accuracy be estimated with tracer gasmeasurements that provide an efficient alternative to the cupmethod. 2. 12. Numerical modelling of highly swirling flows in a cylindrical through-flow hydrocyclone

    Författare :Jordan Ko; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Technology; Hydrocyclone; fractionation; turbulence modelling; swirl flow; fluent; CFX; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Three-dimensional turbulent flow in a cylindrical hydrocyclone is considered and studied by means of computational fluid dynamics using software packages CFX and Fluent. The aim has been to identify the methods that can be used for accurate simulation of the flow in three-dimensional configurations in hydrocyclones at high swirl numbers. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Patient Outcomes after Radiotherapy of Prostate Cancer. Impact of Absorbed Dose and Treated Volume

    Författare :Elisabeth Rasmusson; LUCC: Lunds universitets cancercentrum; []

    Sammanfattning : The climate change on our planet is an issue of great concern. The dignity of this issue was confirmed by the award of the international panel of climate change (IPCC) the Nobel peace prize. This problem arises from the way that we live our lives, how we produce energy, materials and chemicals from a fossil source. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Mechanical Pulp-Based Nanocellulose : Processing and applications relating to paper and paperboard, composite films, and foams

    Författare :Sinke Henshaw Osong; Per Engstrand; Sven Norgren; Mark Martinez; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mechanical pulp; thermo-mechanical pulp; chemi-thermomechanical pulp; fractionation; fines; homogenisation; nanocellulose; nano-ligno-cellulose; microfibrillated cellulose; nanofibrillated cellulose; paper; strength properties; crill; TEMPO; nanographite NG ; composite films;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with processing of nanocellulose originating from pulps, with focus on mechanical pulp fibres and fines fractions. The nanocellulose materials produced within this research project were tested for different purposes ranging from strength additives in paper and paperboard products, via composite films to foam materials.
