1. Phosphorylation in State Transition : Less cause more effect
Sammanfattning : Study of the Arabidopsis thaliana knockout mutant lacking Lhcb3 (koLhcb3) have revealed a close similarity to the wild type plants. Growth rate, NPQ, qP, Φ(PSII), circular dichroism spectra, pigment composition and content of LCHII trimers have been found to be unaffected by this mutation. LÄS MER
2. Functional Significance of Multiple Poly(A) Polymerases (PAPs)
Sammanfattning : 3’ end cleavage and polyadenylation are important steps in the maturation of eukaryotic mRNAs. Poly(A) polymerase (PAP), the enzyme catalysing the addition of adenosine residues, exists in multiple isoforms. In this study the functional significance of multiple poly(A) polymerases have been investigated. LÄS MER
3. Regulation of Aquaporins by Proteins, Metal ions and Phosphate groups
Sammanfattning : Aquaporins (AQPs) are membrane-bound intrinsic water channels that allow the passive diffusion of water and small solutes across cellular membranes. There are 13 highly conserved isoforms of these channels in human, which differ in specificity, regulation and localisation in cells and tissues. LÄS MER
4. Studies on signaling pathways induced by FLT3, an important oncogene in AML
Sammanfattning : FLT3, a receptor tyrosine kinase, is expressed in hematopoietic progenitor cells. FLT3-ITD (internal tandem duplication) and D835 mutations are found in approximately 30% and 7% of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) patients respectively, and correlate with a poor prognosis, thus making the mutated receptor a potential therapeutic target. 5. The interconnected KIT receptor and Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor axis in melanoma
Sammanfattning : Melanoma is an aggressive disease that arises from deregulated signaling events in melanocytes. The KIT receptor tyrosine kinase and the Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) are two essential components that are required for the normal physiology of melanocyte development and function.
