1. Krapula : Henry Parland och romanprojektet Sönder
Sammanfattning : The subject of the dissertation is the work of Henry Parland (1908-1930) during the last two years of his life. The main focus is on the novel Broken. (about developing Velox paper) and some essays about film and poetics. LÄS MER
2. A Perspective Theory of Music Perception and Emotion
Sammanfattning : In order to answer the question of why music moves us emotionally we need to understand the perception of music. A perspective theory is suggested. A perspective implies a frame of reference. This means that the perspective selects content - an implicit meaning. LÄS MER
3. Model-based Analysis and Design of Atomic Layer Deposition Processes
Sammanfattning : Atomic layer deposition (ALD) is a thin-film manufacturing process in which the growth surface is exposed to non-overlapping alternating injections of gas-phase chemical precursor species separated by intermediate purge periods to prevent gas-phase reactions. ALD is characterized by sequential self-terminating heterogeneous reactions between highly reactive gas-phase precursor species and surface-bound species which, when allowed sufficient conditions to reach saturation, results in highly conformal films, on both planar and topographically complex structures. 4. Optical studies of AlN and GaO based nanostructures using Mueller matrix spectroscopic ellipsometry
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the diverse optical properties manifested when light interacts with various materials, with an emphasis on circular polarization- and bandgaprelated phenomena. The studies in this work are centered around Mueller matrix spectroscopic ellipsometry, with the objective of synthesizing and characterizing nanostructured and high-quality thin films to expand our understanding of the optical properties arising from their underlying structure and electronic transitions, respectively. 5. Ultrafast spin, lattice, and electron dynamics in thin metallic films : in the terahertz, near-infrared, and extreme ultraviolet regimes
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we studied the ultrafast spin and electron dynamics triggered by electromagnetic radiation belonging to three different regions of the electromagnetic spectrum, namely terahertz, near-infrared and extreme ultraviolet. By performing pump–probe measurements, we explored the role of the lattice in ultrafast spin and electron dynamics in metallic thin films. LÄS MER
