  1. 1. Modelling Chemical Weathering in Different Scales

    Författare :Johan Holmqvist; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biochemical technology; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Chemical technology and engineering; Sustainable biomass production; Kriging; Illite; Epidote; Chemical weathering; Dissolution; Biokemisk teknik; Silviculture; forestry; forestry technology; Skogsvetenskap; skogsbruk; skogsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Chemical weathering is one of the most important processes supporting life on Earth. Chemical weathering continuously contributes macronutrients and micronutrients to the soil solution. These recycling, essential elements are used as building blocks for all organic living matter. Sammanfattning : Plastic pollution is one of the most pressing environmental issues in today’s world. Addressing this problem calls for the development of environmentally friendly alternatives that would reduce the amount of persistent plastic waste. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Process development for platform chemical production from agricultural and forestry residues

    Författare :David Nickel; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biorefinery; pretreatment; lignocellulose; multi-feed SSCF; preadaptation; multi-scale variability analysis; platform chemicals; lactic acid; logging residues; mixed feedstocks; ethanol;

    Sammanfattning : As part of a bio-based economy, biorefineries are envisaged to sustainably produce platform chemicals via biochemical conversion of agricultural and forestry residues. However, supply risks, the recalcitrance of lignocellulosic biomass, and inhibitor formation during pretreatment impair the economic feasibility of such biorefineries. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Business as Usual? : Doing gender equality in Swedish forestry work organisations

    Författare :Maria Johansson; Malin Lindberg; Ulrika Haake; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Feminist action research; Forestry; Gender; Gender equality; Organization; Male dominated industries; Genus och teknik; Gender and Technology; Industriell design; Industrial Design;

    Sammanfattning : The title of this thesis is Business as usual? Doing gender equality in Swedish forestry work organizations and while the latter part, the subtitle, is rather self-explanatory, the former part can be read in different ways. The aim of the thesis is to increase the understanding of the doing of gender equality in the male dominated work organizations of the Swedish forestry sector, and thereby contribute both theoretical and empirical understanding regarding how doing gender equality in the forestry sector relates both to notions of gender and notions of organizations. 5. 5. Kinematic Control of Redundant Knuckle Booms with Automatic Path Following Functions

    Författare :Björn Löfgren; Jan Wikander; Arto Finland Helsinki University of Technology Visala; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hydraulic manipulator; redundancy; kinematic control; local optimization; knuckle boom; forest machine; forwarder; boom tip control; joystick control; simulations; path following; Construction engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : To stay competitive internationally, the Swedish forestry sector must increase its productivity by 2 to 3% annually. There are a variety of ways in which productivity can be increased. One option is to develop remote-controlled or unmanned machines, thus reducing the need for operator intervention. LÄS MER
