  1. 1. Smart control of PV and exhaust air heat pump systems in single-family buildings

    Författare :Emmanouil Psimopoulos; Joakim Widén; Chris Bales; Tomas Persson; Jarek Kurnitski; Uppsala University; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; photovoltaics; heat pump; forecast services; thermal storage; electrical storage; control algorithms; TESHP Test av solvärmepumpsystem; TESHP Test av solvärmepumpsystem;

    Sammanfattning : Recently, decentralized household photovoltaic (PV) systems have become more affordable and there is a tendency to decrease subsidies for the PV excess electricity fed into the grid. Therefore, there is growing interest in methods to increase the self-consumption (SC), which is the part of the electricity produced by PV and directly consumed on buildings. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Making travel sustainable with ICT? : The social practice of travel planning and travel information use in everyday life

    Författare :Åsa Nyblom; Mattias Höjer; Greger Henriksson; Marie Thynell; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Travel planning; travel information; travel information services; travel planners; sustainable social practices; practice theory; everyday life; ICT; urban transport; user-centred perspective; Planering och beslutsanalys; Planning and Decision Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Adopting the perspective of the traveller, this thesis examines how travel plans are actually made in the everyday situation and how information is used and drawn on when planning the many, often unremarkable, trips of ordinary urban life. Ethnographical field studies in southern Stockholm, Sweden, employing a practice theory perspective showed that people use a vast mixture of different types of information when planning and making trips. 3. 3. Enhancing aftermarket demand planning with product-in-use data

    Författare :Joakim Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Big data; Digitalization; Product-in-use.; Forecasting; Demand planning; Aftermarket;

    Sammanfattning : Enhancing aftermarket demand planning with product-in-use data ABSTRACT Aftermarket demand planning, consisting of forecast and known demand, is a critical activity for both the uptime of customers’ products and the supply chain-related costs. Traditional aftermarket forecasting methods use historical demand as the only input to the statistically based forecasts, usually combined with judgmental modifications. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Models for Dispatch of Volunteers in Daily Emergency Response

    Författare :Niki Matinrad; Tobias Andersson Granberg; Jan Lundgren; Anna Fredriksson; Karen Aardal; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Sufficient emergency resources are essential for emergency services to provide timely help to affected people and to minimize damage to public and private assets and the environment. Emergency services, however, face resource shortages and increasing demand over time. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Statistical Methods for Computational Markets : Proportional Share Market Prediction and Admission Control

    Författare :Thomas Sandholm; Magnus Boman; Mark Baker; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Distributed Systems; Grid Computing; Performance Analysis; Workload Modeling; Middleware; Quality of Service; Prediction; Admission Control; Computer and systems science; Data- och systemvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : We design, implement and evaluate statistical methods for managing uncertainty when consuming and provisioning resources in a federated computational market. To enable efficient allocation of resources in this environment, providers need to know consumers' risk preferences, and the expected future demand. LÄS MER
