  1. 21. Laser Doppler perfusion imaging : methodology and skin applications

    Författare :Karin Wårdell; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Over the last decade a number of emerging technologies have become available for the non-invasive study of skin anatomy and physiology. In this thesis, a method for mapping tissue perfusion based on the laser Doppler technique is presented together with some of the associated experimental and clinical applications. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Cardiovascular aspects in mild primary hyperparathyroidism and the outcome after parathyroidectomy

    Författare :Parastou Farahnak; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Data on the extent and clinical significance of cardiovascular abnormalities in primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) are conflicting. The main objective of this thesis was to evaluate the cardiovascular function in patients with mild PHPT without other known risk factors and to analyze the effect of parathyroid adenomectomy. 3. 23. Cardiovascular risk factors and peripheral vascular function in lung transplant recipients

    Författare :Martin Silverborn; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :lung transplantation; cardiovascular risk factors; hypertension; arterial compliance; vascular resistance; endothelial function; endothelin-1;

    Sammanfattning : Objective: Cardiovascular disease is a major contributor to morbidity and mortality after organ transplantation. Development of cardiovascular risk factors, like hypertension, is common after transplantation. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Effects of cigarettes, e-cigarettes and Swedish snus on vascular function

    Författare :Lukasz Antoniewicz; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Cigarette smoking is considered one of the leading causes of preventable morbidity and premature death worldwide. A large portion of this is attributable to cardiovascular disease such as ischemic heart disease and stroke. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Respiratory monitoring using reflection mode photoplethysmography : clinical and physiological aspects

    Författare :Lena Nilsson; Robert Hahn; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Photoplethysmography (PPG) is a non-invasive optical technique for monitoring variations in blood volume and blood flow in skin and other tissues. Light from a light-emitting diode is absorbed, scattered and reflected from the skin, and detected by a photodetector as a plethysmogram. The plethysmogram contains variations of different frequencies. LÄS MER
