6. Force Budget Analysis of Glacier Flow : Ice Dynamical Studies on Storglaciären, Sweden, and Ice Flow Investigations of Outlet Glaciers in Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica
Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes to the understanding of glacier response to climate change by ice dynamical studies on Storglaciären, Sweden, and Bonnevie-Svendsenbreen, Kibergbreen and Plogbreen in Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica. Ice surface velocities, ice geometry and temperature information is fed through a force budget model to calculate ice mass outflux of these glacial systems via three-dimensional stress distributions for a flux-gate. 7. On Drive Force Distribution and Road Vehicle Handling - A Study of Understeer and Lateral Grip
Sammanfattning : Computer controlled vehicle sub-systems aimed to support drivers in various drivingsituations are rapidly increasing in number and sophistication. These systemshave evolved from anti-lock braking and traction control systems, to electronic stabilitycontrol. LÄS MER
8. Construction of force measuring optical tweezers instrumentation and investigations of biophysical properties of bacterial adhesion organelles
Sammanfattning : Optical tweezers are a technique in which microscopic-sized particles, including living cells and bacteria, can be non-intrusively trapped with high accuracy solely using focused light. The technique has therefore become a powerful tool in the field of biophysics. LÄS MER
9. Phase-field modeling of diffusion controlled phase transformations
Sammanfattning : Diffusion controlled phase transformations are studied bymeans of the phase-field method. Morphological evolution ofdendrites, grains and Widmanst\"atten plates is modeled andsimulated.Growth of dendrites into highly supersaturated liquids ismodeled for binary alloy solidification. 10. Accurate Force Fields for Spectroscopic Studies of Protein–Ligand Interactions and Self-Assembly Structures
Sammanfattning : The computational prediction of complex molecular behaviors is an essen- tial component of modern chemistry, as it provides a faster and more cost- effective way to explore molecular interactions that may be difficult or even impossible to study experimentally. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of- ten serve as a valuable tool for such predictions; however, their accuracy is inherently dependent on the force field (FF) parameters employed. LÄS MER
