Sammanfattning : This thesis analyses the everyday life of the Swedish East India company employees in Canton and Macao 1730–1830. Through a focus on everyday practices, analysed on the basis of ethnicity, class and gender, I show how the Swedes and other foreigners led their everyday life in a constant interplay between adaptation to and transgression of Chinese rules. This thesis focuses on one particular event, the reduction and reorganization of the garrison of Eksjö in Sweden where hundreds of personnel were involved These changes were covered by the mass media and naturally talked about in semi-public and private places. 15. Climate change frames and frame formation : An analysis of climate change communication in the Swedish agricultural sector
Sammanfattning : While previous research into understandings of climate change has usually examined general public perceptions and mainstream media representations, this thesis offers an audience-specific departure point by analysing climate change frames and frame formation in Swedish agriculture. The empirical material consists of Swedish farm magazines’ reporting on climate change, as well as eight focus group discussions among Swedish farmers on the topic of climate change and climate change information.
