16. A Study of EAF Austenitic and Duplex Stainless Steelmaking Slags Characteristics
Sammanfattning : The high temperature microstructure of the solid phases within the electric arc furnace (EAF) slag has a large effect on the process features such as foamability of the slag, chromium recovery, consumption of the ferroalloys and the wear rate of the refractory. The knowledge of the microstructural and compositional evolution of the slag phases during the EAF process stages is necessary for a good slag praxis. LÄS MER
17. An Operational View on Foaming and Slopping Control in Top-blown BOS Vessels
Sammanfattning : Slag formation plays a decisive role in all steelmaking processes. In top-blowing Basic Oxygen Steelmaking (BOS) i.e., in the LD process, an emulsion consisting of liquid slag, dispersed metal droplets, undissolved particles and solid precipitates will, together with process gases, form an expanding foam. 18. Some aspects of recycling of rest products and slag foaming in the EAF during stainless steel production
Sammanfattning : An efficient stainless steel making industry is defined by different factors such as an efficient utilisation of energy in the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF). This requires a good by slag foaming practice and an utilisation of waste products from own production facilities. LÄS MER
19. Modelling microwave measurements in wood
Sammanfattning : This paper deals with physical modelling and control of dynamic foaming in the LD-converter process. An experimental setup consisting of a water model, DSP and PC hardware is built up and shown to be useful for studying dynamic foaming. Furthermore, a foam height estimation algorithm is presented and validated through experiments. LÄS MER
20. Some Aspects of Foamed Bitumen Technology
Sammanfattning : Although foamed bitumen has been widely applied in pavement construction some of its aspects are still not yet understood. In this study, some of these aspects including: effects of the foaming process on binder chemistry, characterization of foamed bitumen and development of a rational method to optimize foam characteristics, evaluation of aggregate particle coating within foamed bitumen treated materials, and development of a gyratory compaction procedure for laterite gravels treated with foamed bitumen were addressed.
