1. Development of new Fluorination Methods Directed to Fluorine-18 Labelling
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the development of new fluorination reactions and their application to fluorine-18 labelling. Fluorine-18 labelled compounds are employed as tracers in Positron Emission Tomography (PET), which is a powerful non-invasive imaging method in medical diagnostics. LÄS MER
2. Synthesis of Organofluorine Compounds and Allenylboronic Acids - Applications Including Fluorine-18 Labelling
Sammanfattning : This work is focused on two areas: the chemistry of organofluorine and organoboron compounds. In the first chapter, a copper-catalysed synthesis of tri- and tetrasubstituted allenylboronic acids is presented. Extension of the same method leads to allenylboronic esters. LÄS MER
3. Synthesis of Novel Fluorine-Free Salts for Battery Electrolytes
Sammanfattning : Nowadays lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are the dominant power sources of portable electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops and cameras. Although recently their applications have extended to areas of electromobility and hybridization of vehicle, cost and safety issues remain as big obstacles for a smoother implementation. LÄS MER
4. Multi-functional Hyaluronan Based Biomaterials for Biomedical Applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents strategies for constructing multi-functional biomaterials based on hyaluronan (HA) derivatives for various biomedical applications, such as drug delivery, tissue regeneration, and imaging biomaterials. The aim of this study is to improve the functionalities of HA biomaterials as well as simplify the preparation procedures. LÄS MER
5. Development of Palladium-Promoted 11C/12C-Carbonylations and Radiosynthesis of Amyloid PET Ligands
Sammanfattning : In the first part of this thesis, palladium(0)-catalyzed and -mediated carbonylations are discussed. Paper I describes a new method for the safe, efficient use of a solid carbon monoxide source in the synthesis of primary and secondary benzamides. LÄS MER
